Plays more like a hitman / stealth game instead of the classic sniping. Personally, I preferred SE 4. If you liked the sniping portion of SE more than stealth, SE 5 is a downgrade. SE 5 places more of an emphasis on close range combat. I wouldn't have purchased if I knew beforehand. The budget and quality is an upgrade but the gameplay shifted towards a different direction

So far it is much of the same, although the playing areas are much bigger. That said, it's still easy to find a choke point, and snipe your way through a large amount of enemies, making forther progress easier.There are a few minor bugs regarding trigger points and location of items. However, if you have played and enjoyed the previos iterations of the franchise, you will enjoy this one too.

Love this game. Have played the sniper elites since sniper elite 3 and it's brilliant. Even better now with multiplayer, surival and co-op mode so when the campaign is completed there is more games to play, so it's very good value. Best army/war game out there at the moment. Even beat cod hands down. Hope they continue to bring more out.

Just as fun as the others, with some nifty additions to give you just enough extra content to make it feel like it’s not just a reskinned version of previous instalments. I would give it a 5 star rating, though there are a number of bugs which I have encountered. 99% of them are fixed with a quick reloading of a save, but sometimes you will need to restart a level from scratch if you want to complete something, though this only really affected me when I was trying to locate collectibles, so if you really can’t find something that should be there then you just repeat the level on an easier difficulty and stroll through and grab it.
Decent game, stays true to sniper elite 4. Nice level designs. Custom difficulties was a great touch that adds replayability. New game mode “invasion” is some what hard to learn but fun once you get a handle of it. Graphics are okay but I haven’t played it on 4K yet- so they may really shine on higher resolution tv/monitor.Overall great stealth action game. High price tag no surprise, definitely worth a buy when you can afford it.
It hurts me to give a smaller game a 3 star review… but the game felt generic. If you love sniping people from point A to B and that’s your thing… you will love this game. I understand the game has sniper in it… but that doesn’t mean that series can’t grow. Add some depth to the world etcA little boring to me… might be really enjoyable for someone who loves sniping games. Not going to say it’s a bad game… probably just not somehting I’d ever put 100 hours into
After reading the other reviews I was hesitant to purchase the PS4 version and, unfortunately, they were correct. This version is frustratingly buggy. It's like they wrote it for PS5 and never bothered to actually play it on a PS4. Too many problems to list but the most irritating one is that sometimes it takes multiple attempts to pick up an item. If there are two or more items close together (like in a safe) it may take 20-30 tries to pick up the information item as it defaults to whatever ammunition item is nearby. The game itself is great but very frustrating to play. Save often because you're likely to get killed while making 20 attempts to pick up an item!
I’ve played and enjoyed all the games in this series. This one is great. The 9 levels are very large an take a lot of time to clear especially if you play stealthy. Great sniping fun or you can run an gun if you like. I have only played it in solo campaign game mode so cannot comment on the multi/player online game play.The 9th level is very short in comparison the rest but the overall game is great and worth owning / playing.
They definitely focused on realism. Many things i wished se4 had they put in se5. Small details but adds to difficulty and realism. There are some glitches as this is the initial release. But one patch could fix them all. I never pre-order games. But with 900 hrs in se4 last year. It was a no brainer. Do yourself a favor though. Start in full authentic mode. It truly is the way to play.
