Holds heat for hours. My big cat has a thick quilted doggy hut in which he loves to spread out and sleep. I have a self warming pet mat (basically these contain a special heat reflecting foil which radiates body heat back). With this combo and my cat inside the snuggle safe stays warm for 10 hours. Perfect on a cold night. Without extra insulation in his open basket and my cat not being on it all the time I still get a good 5 hours. Much better than any wheat or gel pack I use for myself.

My elderly cats love the disc under their bedding on cold winter nights. As it is quite hard it needs to go under several blankets but the warmth still penetrates and lasts over 8 hours. Three minutes in my microwave heats it up nicely. The cover is great but quite hard to get the disc in. If the cover was a tad bigger that would be easier. All in all a very efficient product that does exactly what it is advertised to do.

I needed something indestructible for my rabbit who is a chewer and will chew anything. I needed something to keep her warm during the cold winter weather but that wouldn't burn her or explode like a hot water bottle if she bit into it. So I was glad to see that this product is "bite-proof". The microwave instructions are easy and seems to get quite warm. I don't know if it actually does last for 10 hours as stated, as I usually use it overnight in my rabbit's cage under her bed. But overall I am really happy with the product as I know it's safe for my pet and does the job of keeping her warm.
I bought this pad for my old cat who sleeps outdoors. He usually has an electric pad but our house burned down recently and there is no electricity. I was sceptical that the product would stay hot for 10 hours and was very impressed on the first morning that it was still warm after 12 hours. Does stay warm for the advertised time and instructions are easy to follow. Neat device and the cover could easily be washed if necessary. My cat is suspicious as the device is hard and her bed is not soft like she is used to but I will persevere and see how things go . She is old and very set in her ways
THE BEST PURCHASE EVER!! i brought 1 for mine ageing Blace Masked Peachface Parrot - to help keep her warm during winter - it works for so long - up to 10 hour for heat! keeps her cage nice and warm all night long. so good it is - that i have brought TWO MORE - for my cats!... i just love them and would recommend them to everyone.
My work uses these for small animals, so I decided to buy one for my cats too. My cats love to sit on this thing. You could probably use it for humans too, its super safe. It comes with a fleece sleeve so its less intimidating for the animals, and doesnt expose them directly to the heat. I have used these hundreds of times, have never had a problem. I tend to heat them for a little less than the recommended time out of paranoia, and they still stay warm for a good few hours. The price seems steep, but they definitely are worth it.
Was so excited to get this product. Ordered 12 based on recommendation of several large community cat rescue group.The disks are supper hard and are barely warm after being heated in microwave per instuctions. The disks lose their small amount of heat after about 4.5 hours.Such a letdown. I was hoping to be able to use these to provide some warmth in winter shelters for community cats.Sandy
My expectations were not that high when I purchased these. Claiming to stay warm for 10 hours. Well WOW, these are just fantastic. They absolutely stay warm for 10 hours and more. I heated mine up at 9pm for my cats, put them on top of my quilt and the cats loved them. I could still feel slight warmth from them 12 hours later. Great way to stop cats climbing under your covers, smothering you and waking you up in the middle of the night while they try to get warm lol. You just put it down where you want them to lay.
