Don’t have to buy, carry indoors or find space for cases of sparkling water from the supermarket. No plastic bottles going into the oceans. Peace of cake to use. Doesn’t need plugging in so can put it anywhere. No batteries needed either. I use mine every day and I love it. This one was for my son and he uses it every day too Cons: I’ve put 10/10 for ‘value for money’ because it was on sale and cheaper than the normal one. Other than that I can’t think of any ways to improve it

The unit is well made and lightweight. Instructions are straight forward and set up is easy. Getting the gas bottle in was easy too. Comes with one bottle and one pre-filled gas cylinder. The bottle goes into the gassing chute firmly and feels solid. I put water just above the line. The sparkling water lasts for a couple of days but I use it up before then. I prefer to make flavoured drinks per serve and Bickfords cordials work great. The design is sleek and bright white, very minimal for the kitchen. It is tall, about 40cms so needs space above to press the gassing button. Bottles wash well with a bottle brush. I'm really happy with this purchase and like I said I can't believe I didn't do this sooner! The quick lock and release mechanism certainly whilst it is still new works excellently - ask me in about a couple of years say January 2024 if I still think this.Although not liking the new design of the bottles, they feel less sturdy because of the slim base, the bottle shape is ultra quick to fill up from a tap - so this is a definite plus point.C's was cheaper than A'n! And I could drive there and pick it up instantly instead of having to wait at home over a 13 hour window. The press mechanism looks identical to the older model - which over 4 years failed with no allowable adjustment possible to ensure good workings.
Pros: It does exactly what it should, makes fizzy water. Simple to set-up, simple to use. Looks sleek. Some reviews were quite negative about the quality of the product but there is not much to the design that can be criticised but I guess that is just my opinion. It was mentioned that it does not make the water fizzy enough, you can push the fizz button for a recommended 3 - 5 times but if you want it extra fizzy there is no stopping you go for a 6th push. I use 4 pushes of 2 seconds each push and I think that is an adequate amount of fizz. Once fizzed I transfer to a bigger bottle but found it lost some of the fizz so I just increased the fizziness before the transfer and now it is perfect. Cons: Nothing. Why fix something that's not broken.
Pros: When I’d paid extra for a 500ml bottle the water did eventually fizz. Cons: The bottle that comes with the Sodastream is far too large. You have to press the button to carbonate the water many, many, many times to make it have any sparkle at all. It costs enough as it is but I paid an extra £14 (incl p & P) for a smaller bottle to see if that would make any difference. It was better as, obviously, in a smaller bottle there’s less water to carbonate and it works better. I honestly wish I’d never bought the machine in the first place. I emailed Sodastream ages ago but haven’t had a reply. Years ago, in the 70s, I had one of their original machines which came with very small bottles and that machine worked perfectly. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this one.
As a previous reviewer states, I too thought this was rubbish and nearly sent it back. It didn't seem to make water fizzy at all. However I then realised it wasn't the machine, but the bottles. There is a wiggly line on the bottle which seems to be guiding you as to where to fill, but filling only to the line means the gas nozzle barely touches the water and most of the gas escapes. For it to work, you have to ignore this line and fill to at least 1cm above that, so that the end of the nozzle is fully submerged in the water. Then press the button very firmly for 1 or 2 seconds, keeping an eye on the bottle so it doesn't bubble over. Repeat this 3 or 4 times and you should have a very fizzy result. Bought this before Christmas so that we could stop buying sparkling water, big mistake! One of the worst products I have ever bought. Even after pressing button FIVE times the water is not even slightly sparkling. It would need about 20 pushes to come even close to a normal bottle of sparkling. At this rate the gas bottle will not last five minutes. Also the water goes everywhere when trying to use it even when nozzle only just reaches water line. Just wished I had used it straight away after buying as it would then have gone straight back. Be Warned!
The Spirit sparkling water maker is so easy to use and convenient. The soda tastes great! It’s a healthy alternative evening drink - just add lemon. I can make a bottle in a minute so I don’t have to fill my fridge with bottles of soda if I’m short on room - a bonus at Christmas time! And, as the gas cartridges are recyclable (return them to place of purchase and they send them to be reused) I am reducing my carbon footprint. Wish I’d bought one earlier.
The SodaStream works well, no power is required and fizz level is customisable. I had read other reviews that you cannot get a strong fizz, however that is not my experience at all, you can certainly make the water fizzier than soda you can buy from a supermarket. I did need to contact Myer customer service to find out why shipping was taking so long (turns out it could not be delivered to a parcel locker), so that was the only negative. Overall I'm happy with the product and Myer customer service.
