I have heard of these nail caps for cats before but never thought I’d be able to do them myself. One of my cats is not a fan of having her paws touched at all so I have to take her to the groomer to get her nails trimmed. My 16 week old kitten though has no problem and let’s me. I had the vet put them on first when I took him to get neutered then purchased a multi-pack on Amazon. It’s not as hard as I thought it would be. Trim the cats claws first then put the glue inside the nail cap and push them onto the nail. You don’t have to press down or anything they dry very quickly. I have two cats one of whom has been declawed for years and my Bengal who is not and not ever be declawed. I always felt bad when my Bengal (as a kitten) would attack my little four pound torti. No matter how often I trimmed her nails I felt she had an unfair advantage in the cat scraps so I got these for her. Not only are they easy to put on she doesn't even care that she has them. It has saved so many people horrible injuries. I highly recommend them

I LOVE this alternative to declawing cats. Plus they are super cute. I have always wanted to paint my cat's nails ever since I was a child. Obviously they won't sit still long enough but this is a great way to spice up kitty's life. Just be careful on how much superglue you use. There is a fine line of too much and too little. I've made the mistake of both. Too much sent my 9 year old cat to the vet to have them removed. (She was fine. They just didn't fall off and making her uncomfortable) too little and they fall off as soon as the cat tries to pull them off.My advice would be to have 2 people applying them: one to put the glue in the nail the other to place the gluey cap on the cat. Also make sure kitty is in a "purrito". Wrap the kitty up tight in a big ... MoreI LOVE this alternative to declawing cats. Plus they are super cute. The blanket will calm them down and keep the still so you can adhere the beautiful fake nails to Princess. She will look beyond gorgeous at the club on the weekend. 😹

I love these darn things. I just picked up a pack (size medium in red) for my two mixed black cats because we moved into a new house, thus new furniture! The cats were nervous from the move and I didn't want them to claw up the stuff in retailiation. They slide on easily, but I'd suggest holding onto your cat with them on for a couple minutes to get their hands acclimated to the feeling. Having them slid on helps the hole be bigger for a nice fit once you put the glue in the nail too. All in all the process is really easy. DO keep an eye on them while the glue dries. The package suggests five minutes, but I kept them near me for 15, just to make sure they weren't going to try and lick at their paws too early. They still do their regular scratching on their posts and there has been no change in their behavior. I did trim their nails before putting them on so that each nail would fit nicely and have a good amount of time to grow before replacing them with new caps. Definitely happy with these so far.

My cat scratches really badly on carpet and furniture. She didn’t used to, but the older she’s getting, she’s started to “scratch that itch”. We trim her claws, we’ve tried sprays, coatings, pads, toys, pheromones etc. Shes just very old and stubborn now! Our vet recommended caps. These are difficult to get on sometimes no matter how well behaved your cat is - it’s glue and a wiggling fur child. We have size medium which is great for a small cat. It’s really easy to put too much glue and if you do it wrong, you can end up hurting your fur baby so make sure to do your research before jumping in, and less is more here (the glue can dry to their fur and cause matting... She can scratch all she wants and no damage done. We decorate them for holidays (this is Christmas). Now she doesn’t even realize she has them on. The caps stay on for a few weeks at a time and through scratching, indoor and outdoor activities, in water etc. they can break or be bitten off so be weary. Check them often! Once you get the hang of them though it really helps with damage and allows your fur baby to do her thing! Sometimes, that’s all you can do. Might as well make the best of it! 😽😎

Glue was dry, cat hates them
29 January 2020

I bought these for my kitten because she has a habit of raking people with her back claws when she plays/is held. I can handle scratching and biting, but this was BAD, and I was moving her into a dorm building where she would be interacting with, and possibly hurting, strangers. Both glue containers were completely dry. Petco was nice enough to supply us with new glue.My kitten doesn't hate having her paws touched. I can extend her claws and play with her feet when she's relaxed with no problems. She HATES these. Every time I put one on she screams like I'm hurting her. I was putting them on in the dorm building and she was meowing so loud I was worried I would be reported for animal abuse. I *feel* like an abuser whenever I have to put these on her. If you can't handle a cat with claws, I guess you shouldn't have a cat, since declawing is unspeakably cruel, and your cat wil. beat the living daylights out of you if you try to use these.

Good alternative to declawing
30 October 2019

I bought 2 boxes of these at my local store to keep new kittens from scratching our leather couch. Both boxes had dried up glue so we had to make an additional trip to buy super glue. They were easy enough to put on (if you have a cooperative kitty) and even my pickiest cat doesnt seem to mind them. They serve the purpose and avoid having to declaw a cat. Would have given more stars if the glue had worked because regular super glue was messy as it did not have a tiny applicator like the one included. Wish the store had had color options so I could see more easily when they fall off.

Have used these for nearly a year
25 March 2019

I've been using this product on my cat's front paws for nearly a year. He's not very active, so his caps loosen and fall off due to his scratching for the most part; he's a senior now and an indoor kitty (lazy thing!). Sometimes the caps have lasted on him a month, sometimes a week. The caps are easy to apply. Although, I must admit that I'm still trying to figure out the sizing of the caps to the claws because they all seem the same to me! LOL That's probably why sometimes they don't last so long, I suppose. And, that's the reason for the rating. It would be most helpful if the packaging included some idea of the sizing and, maybe, what to look for when matching the caps to the claws. If you don't want to mess with the caps, have your vet's office apply them. ... MoreI've been using this product on my cat's front paws for nearly a year. It's better than getting my hands/arms scratched all over when I play with him.

Same as my vet uses!
30 March 2021

my dog had a very extensive resection surgery where the large (8x10) wound was left open to heal by secondary intention, on his upper arm front of elbow. The bandaging wrapping is a lot & in order to stay up, requires wrapping his chest. Our vet used this exact same product post-op, and we knew wed need a lot more than supplied. I looked at alternatives, slightly cheaper but made of latex & understanding sizing was very difficult. So we got the same the vet supplied & are really happy with it! The first sleeve he wore for a full week & it was really stretched out! Since receiving our box, we reuse the same sleeve about 3-4 days & then cut a new piece. N84 size fits our 75lb pitbulls chest perfectly. if your dog needs a stretch net vet to hold any wraps or bandaging ... Moremy dog had a very extensive resection surgery where the large (8x10) wound was left open to heal by secondary intention, on his upper arm front of elbow. This is far too long to use with a cat.

When I ordered this, I did so based upon the recommendation of someone that made a comment while I was researching a different pill popper at a different website. It was quite frustrating that it I couldn't find just a single one of these to order, but only packs of 12. Regardless, I had a sick cat that had to have pills, and it has not been easy to get them down him. I bought these with the hope that I could use it to help accomplish that. I was shocked when I received these and saw how long they are. There is literally no way that I can use this to get a pill down this cat. To even attempt to try this would be to risk injuring the cat, as there is no way to delicately control this pill popper while trying to administer a pill. To even attempt to try this would be to risk injuring the cat, as there is no way to delicately control this pill popper while trying to administer a pill. I even tried modifying it with a piece of wire and tape to make a loop that I could stick my finger through, which would hang down from the end of it a couple of inches and allow me to have better control, but that was impossible to manage too. Perhaps I just have no idea how to use this. Perhaps if I saw the inventors of this device use it for administering a pill, I would have an "ooohhhhhh" moment. However, I've had no such moment so far, and I wouldn't recommend these to anyone. They need to be at least two inches shorter. I just wasted the moneyto order 12 of these, because I desperately needed one. Now all of them will likely end up in the garbage.
