This stuff is AWESOME. I got some for my 11 year old dog. He has been a dry kibble dog his whole life, and he is the type that eats his 3 cups of food over 24+ hours. Not this stuff - he gobbles it up in one sitting, and even started whining for his food at dinner time. And I have to say - this stuff actually smells really good when I'm mixing it up! It takes about 15 minutes to re-hydrate (Bentley hates waiting that long haha) I totally understand that price and quality go hand in hand, but man this stuff is pricey and doesn't last my 50 lb pup too long. Had to switch to a less expensive option, but had to write a review cause this is amazing if you are ok with the cost!

I started feeding my old girl Stella (Olde Bulldogge) Sojo's when she was diagnosed with mast cell cancer. Not wanting to do too much invasive surgery, she was 12 yrs old at diagnosis, I read several recommendations for Sojos on websites like the RescueMe dog sanctuary website. I do believe incorporating Sojos into Stella's diet extended the length and quality of her life and helped her enjoy her final sunsets. Living in Minneapolis I couldn't believe I hadn't heard of Sojos as its only made 10 miles down river in St Paul. They are set up right next to the stock yards along the Mississippi River in S. St Paul so they get fresh meat quickly and are able to freeze dry it for a perfect dog food: it's like thanksgiving dinner in a mix. Sure its expensive, but having been fortunate to have pugs and bulldogges --breeds not exactly well known for their great health-- over the last 20+ yrs, I believe Sojo's is prolly the healthiest dog food you can buy short of blending up a thanksgiving spread for them everyday.

The food smelled great! My dog has been ill since eating this. The chunks of meat are hard and do not soften. There are large chunks and they do not soften up well. She has been vomiting and had massive diarrhea. No pleasant smells. It’s bad. She stopped eating for two days because she was so ill. She is finally eating again. I cannot recommend this food to anyone.

I have to go to the trouble of putting new bag through blender. The huge chunks, especially carrots aren’t doable. Save old bag, run dry through blender and pour in old bag. This extra hassle docks a star. Whatta bout little dogs? Especially older who have lost teeth? This creates the oatmeal texture after adding water. Last 2 bags haven't smelled right and my voracious dog is refusing to eat it by itself.
My 9 yr old male Bichon Frise has been eating Sojos complete natural freeze-dried raw & dehydrated grain-free dog food for almost 9 yrs. Lately he goes over and sniffs his food and walks away. He really doesn't want to eat it. He is still very healthy and will eat his treats. It is just the dog food he walks away from. Have you changed the ingredients in this food. Can you recommend something else similar to this food? I know you are not supposed to change food, but it is a real challenge for him to eat this food, Please advise.
I switch up my dogs food occasionally and I’ve purchased Sojos SO many times over the years for my dogs. The ingredients are quality and a raw diet has so many benefits. It takes just a couple minutes of prep to measure the food and water. It is like raw feeding done easy.I use raw to mix in with kibble (about 50 / 50) and my dogs love their food soo much more with the raw included (their lives are short, they should enjoy meals as much as possible!!). The bag lasts longer than you expect since you mix water with it. Sojos is a brand I trust and I feel good about feeding it to my dogs.
Sojos is a great product. A 2 pound bag makes 10 pounds of fresh raw healthy food for your beloved pet. They have different dehydrated formulas to chose from. I went with the Lamb in the pink bag. Just add lukewarm water and it hydrates the mix and you have your dog a fresh "Raw" meal, much easier than trying to create one on your own. Great for Dogs with food allergies also. I make it up in resalable container and keep refrigerated, and it's ready when you are. It's best to mix up a couple days supply at a time so it will always be fresh and ready to go. They do have larger bags, along with treats and other fantastic, healthy products.

However, I have come to realize that the turkey and beef mixtures are very acidic and they bothered my little guy. I was delighted to find the lamb mixture. It doesn't give my guy acid reflux and also doesn't have the big pieces of carrots and that awful celery in it. He hated the celery. A big dog might have liked it better, but when you're dealing with such a little mouth (he's a Pomeranian) it's hard for him to eat it. He loves everything about the lamb and I'm planning on switching my other two dogs to the lamb as soon as I can. Sojos is really a great food and it changed my dog's life. My dog's coat was "bristly", but after 4ish weeks on this food, it's noticeably softer - enough that friends commented.She has always been food motivated but it's amplified with this food! I had to install dog gates to keep her from jumping on the counter & slurping what she could get from the bowl resting in the sink to soak! I've since figured out a work around, but she still jumps acrobatically in excitement when it's time to eat.
My dog is not a begger by any means. She eats what she gets and has had the same food for a long time. I bought a sample of this when I was moving until I could get her regular food and she went NUTS. She literally turned around on our walk and pulled me back to the house she loved it so much. Needless to say, we're buying again.
