The Solo Pot 900 a perfect fit for the Solo Stove. I am very happy to see just how well thought out the Solo Pot 900 is designed. Allowing it to to hold the Solo Stove inside for packing seems like a no brainier but so other many companies just don't get it. I am giving it five stars because I can't give it 4 3/4 stars, why you ask. Only thing I would have liked to see was the volume markings on the other side or both sides.. when I hold the handle the marks are hidden from view so I have to switch hands or risk holding a hot pot,,, I am picky and this is so well made I will get over it so it's not worth fussing about but rather an observation. Got to go, using it to cook up some beef vegie stew while writing this review :-) See you on the trail!

Awesome cooking pot but excels when combined with the original Solo Stove (which nests perfectly inside the cooking pot).I learned about Solo Stoves from watching a gear review by Matt Grahm of "Dude, You're Screwed" fame (and now replacing Cody Lundin on "Dual Survivor").http://youtu.be/A8GMbpHnfpsAfter watching his review I became obsessed with these little stoves. I got the Titan first which better accommodates group cooking and absolutely fell in love the design. The original Solo Stove is perfect for "solo" cooking and backpacking. Never having to pack fuel canisters again has been one of the greatest "upgrades" to my backpacking experience. I love this stove!!!

Bought this item a few months ago for the day long hikes I sometimes Take. It performs well. It even has the measurements on the inside so I can boil just enough water to heat a Mountainhouse meal or whatever brand I happen to get. Another cool part that may not be obvious from the picture is this pot has a kettle spout that makes pouring water for tea or coffee much easier. I use it for this when I go out on the really cold day i can have something to keep warm. I use this pot with either a Trangia burner and an Esbit ultralight base or my MSR Pocket Rocket (Esbit is my default, but the MSR is more reliable in the cold). The one complaint I have has to do with the pot handles. In a really windy environment if you are using an alcohol stove or if you have the flame ... MoreBought this item a few months ago for the day long hikes I sometimes Take. It performs well. The one complaint I have has to do with the pot handles. In a really windy environment if you are using an alcohol stove or if you have the flame whipped up to compensate for the wind on a canister stove be careful when you pick the pot up. The handles don't come out very far and if you do not pay attention to whether or not the flame is going out the side or not you could end up burning you hand (or melting a glove in my case). The solution is easy. Just turn the pot so the handles face into the wind. Still a bit of a hassle though.

I bought this pot for our truck camping drawer to cook oatmeal for two. Hmm, maybe something a bit larger. But what a great pot for my backpack! It's high quality stainless (not that overseas junk), lightweight, balanced, perfect size and only 7 1/2 oz.. The measuring increments are easily read inside. We are replacing raw aluminum stuff with quality stainless for safety and easier cleanup. I think this little pot and I will be friends for a long time.. Thinking about the 60 oz. solo pot for the truck drawer.
This is a great little pot. It's made out of stainless steel and very durable. It has easy to read measurement marks inside the pot. The lid fits snug, but not too tight and it has a useful pour spout in the front. The handle on the top of the lid will stand up for convenience and has a silicone sleeve so you don't burn your fingers when removing it. The fold out handles on the pot stays put and doesn't flop around. The Solo Lite stove fits nicely inside with its own stuff sack so your pot stays nice and clean inside. The pot comes with its own stuff sack so the inside of your pack stays clean too. Wood burning stoves will soot up your pots and turn them black, but the darkness will actually make the boil times faster. Just got the SOLO Stove and I also purchased the SOLO Pot 900. I must say the pot was a great addition. It easily contains the complete SOLO Stove system and also comes in a very nice tote bag. Here are a few comments after using the pot several times with my kids. #1 - It fits perfectly on the SOLO Stove, #2 - It holds enough water for boiling drinking water or making small meals, #3 - It is light and compact enough to easily fit in most backpacking gear. Bottom line is that this pot matches the SOLO Stove in quality and completes the set. Don't even think of getting the SOLO Stove without getting the SOLO Pot 900. You will be glad you got it.
The Solo Pot 900 is a perfect match for the Solo Stove. The Solo Stove, even while inside of the black travel bag it came with, fits perfectly inside of this pot. This pot is extremely lightweight and durable. I can’t imagine that the handles on the pot or its lid could ever break. The handles are strong enough and stay cool enough so that you can pick up the pot when it is full of boiling water, without the handles bending, failing, or being too hot to hold. There are measurements on the inside of the pot, so you don’t need to bring an additional measuring cup. This pot is very stylish - it is simple and elegant, with only the measurements and the handles interrupting its smooth, stainless steel surface. The only downside I can think of does not affect me, but may ... MoreThe Solo Pot 900 is a perfect match for the Solo Stove. This pot is very stylish - it is simple and elegant, with only the measurements and the handles interrupting its smooth, stainless steel surface. The only downside I can think of does not affect me, but may affect others. The Solo Stove Pot 1800 comes with an additional removable handle that allows the pot to be hung over a fire by using a tripod. This allows additional control over how much heat is being used. This pot does not feature a handle for hanging the pot. I personally wouldn’t use this feature, so I’m glad that it doesn’t have this extra weight added, but if you are planning on hanging your pot over the stove or a fire, you may want to consider a different pot. Also beware that this pot is very small (it holds slightly more than 30 oz), so if you are cooking for more than one or two people, consider a larger pot. Otherwise, it’s a great pot for a solo camper or backpacker, especially if you have a Solo Stove, which you can nestle inside of it!
I haven't been this excited about gear for a long time. Gear junkies will want this; practical folks will need it. Great for backpacking and emergency use.The Solo Pot is amazingly engineered and is constructed to store the Solo Stove inside it. The pot holds the perfect amount of water to fill my coffee press. A closely fitting nylon stuff sack protects the rest of my gear from any soot that collects on the pot during cooking. The lids fits snugly, and combined with the pour spout, can be used to strain water off food, like macaroni (I tested with pierogies).I highly recommend buying the accompanying stove, as they store and operate perfectly together. I received my stove and pot set just in time for my two-week cross country trek to Yellowstone NP with my son. He is working there this Summer and I wanted to get a simple cookset for his free time. I've used the Solo Stove for well over a year, but was just able to get the Solo Pot as it was not available when I bought the stove.I love the stove! Not having to carry fuel simplified a lot of what we were doing. Finding a few handfuls of twigs and branches was easy. For just the two of us we no problem first heating water for a hot drink in the morning and then some instant oatmeal. Usually for dinner it was either heating water for pasta sides or instant rice along with a can of tuna or chicken. Occasionally we went and heated a can of chili or soup. Usually for dinner it was either heating water for pasta sides or instant rice along with a can of tuna or chicken. Occasionally we went and heated a can of chili or soup. Usually each meal was ready in under ten minutes. On a couple of nights we had daylong rain, so we did use a small alcohol stove inside the Solo Stove. As for the Solo Pot, I really like it. It holds more than my old pot, which has a small skillet as a lid. I found I have never used the skillet part as it is so small and not with the effort. Back to the Solo Pot, I appreciate the measurements stamped into the side which can be read from the inside. Takes a lot of guess work out of the mix. I also like the folding mug style handles. They make it much easier to pour the hot water out. Plus the pour spout was dripless for me. Not true with other pots. The steel is easier to clean off the inevitable soot build up.All in all, I really like this stove/pot combination. I'm sure my son will get great use of it this Summer. I look forward to his return so I can have it back for the upcoming Fall schedule of scout trips.
This is the second Solo Pot 900 that I have owned. The first pot I passed off to my dad with the second Solo Stove that I owned, which also got passed on to him because he really liked using it. I again own the Solo Pot 900, along with the Solo Pot 1800. The 900 is a really great pot! It's small enough to hike with and use as a small cook container. It's more in line for small meals and nothing over 30oz (3.75 cups). But you can cook most things and small trail meals with this pot flawlessly. It is made of solid stainless steel construction, so it's a little heavier than aluminum or titanium… but it has the durability of steel. The only thing I could or would do to improve this pot is to add food grade silicone tubing to each of the handles so they remain cool to the touch, even with the hottest flame from your accompanying Solo Stove. Overall, this pot is a wonderful piece of camping/hiking/survival kit!
