Great device. Even these S2 editions work well. Plenty of power and up to 4 speakers @ 8ohm support. Powering our summer fun this year. Always ask for the first 4 of the serial when buying. The sonos format is YYMM format. Anything 2016 + (16XX) should work with S2. 2015 or below, do your research. ENJOY!!! Memo: Have always been a Bose fan and have amps, speakers, devices, and sound bars. These sonos definitely have a different sound signature (like all a/v companies do) but it is also fantastic. No complaints. The integration and sonos "system" beats the bose offering by far. Sonos connect amps + Boze speakers or Polk (top tier) sound amazing.

I use a Sonos ZoneBridge hardwired to my router to access the Internet. I power two sets of in-wall speakers (kitchen & small living room) with ONE (yes, one!) ZP120, I use a ZP90 with an old Apple iPod Hi-Fi in one bedroom, another ZP90 with a Bose Wave in second bedroom, & a third ZP90 with an old Sony shelf system in the third bedroom. I have two iTunes libraries, one on a NAS (here I keep >100 GB of Podcasts), and a second on my laptop, in which I keep my music and Audible audiobooks. I keep an iPod Touch synced with the laptop library, so that when the laptop is turned off, I can use the Touch docked in its Sonos dock as the source library for music and books. I play audiobooks and podcasts throughout the house so that I can move from room to room without missing a word. And every word is as clear as a bell! Then, when my husband wants to hear internet radio (usually BBC) in the bedroom, my daughter wants Pandora in hers, and I listen to my Audible books or Podcast in the kitchen, we each get exactly what we want without missing a beat! All with exceptional sound quality. BUT BEST OF ALL, when my overly complex network (24 port switch off a wireless router, off a Comcast modem) has a hard time negotiating thru multiple security layers to my Podcast library on the NAS, support walks me through the process of getting all the gadgets talking to one another again. When it's more than I can handle, their software can take over my pc to straighten out even the worst network glitches! And it's NEVER their equipment that's at fault, and yet they support me. THEY SUPPORT ME NO MATTER HOW LONG AGO I BOUGHT THEIR EQUIPMENT, AND NO MATTER WHETHER IT'S THEIR EQUIPMENT AT FAULT OR SOME OTHERS!!! I wish Microsoft and Apple would learn something about customer support from this company. The quality of their products is overshadowed by nothing, except possibly, their support team's excellent attitude and proficiency! Best products I've EVER bought, bar none.

I have slowly replaced receiver, subwoofer, etc for the wonderful wireless world of Sonos. However, I had two sets of quality wired speakers that I didn't want to part with. I had one Sonos Connect for two of the speakers and recently found this Connect on ebay, which I purchased for the other two. It was a fair price, it was delivered days before the estimate, and it has been set up, connected to the Sonos system and performs perfectly. Now I can have music in several rooms, all controlled with my iphone.

I have many of these units and have been using them for 6+ years. Each room has its own AMP, connected to speakers installed in the ceiling. Perfect sound quality, great software .. I generally use the iPhone app, sometimes the desktop app. Sonos forms its own wireless network, so each unit serves as a repeater to extend the range of the system .. my AMPs are spread out more than 100 feet and through half a dozen interior/exterior walls with no issues. I have never experienced any problems with any of the AMPs themselves. At one point AT&T upgraded my home gateway/router and it was incompatible with Sonos .. I bought a basic ethernet switch and everything is fine now. Highly recommend these AMPs. I lost 2 of 6 amps (different locations in the house) in the past 3 months. One no longer powers on, the other no longer works on wifi only Ethernet. Sonos support was unable to help (said the wifi "went bad", outside of 1 year warranty, offered 30% off a new $500 AMP. I have a friend who is having similar issues at the 5-6 year mark.
The set-up takes less than five minutes, expansion is straightforward, the grouping feature is intuitive for more than one amp. They do get quite hot inside the cabinet (that's a well articulated risk on the box, so bear it in mind when deciding the best location), and they're fairly expensive at $500 a clip. That said, I'm very happy with my purchase of five units and they work great. I set them up to connect to existing in-wall speakers all with wiring pre-run to the cabinet location. Since the set up is so easy for amateurs, I wish Sonos sold or promoted a device to determine the correct ohmage of the speakers simply by testing the home run wires. I tried to use a multimeter, but had limited success. It would be nice to know in advance whether the amp is ... MoreThe set-up takes less than five minutes, expansion is straightforward, the grouping feature is intuitive for more than one amp. It would be nice to know in advance whether the amp is compatible with existing in-wall or in-ceiling speakers without having to take them out of their housings. THIS IS NOT A DEFICIENCY, JUST A PRODUCT ENHANCEMENT REQUEST. My point is that because they're so plug-and-play it would be great to just connect the wires and go.
Sonos Connect Amp is a great replacement for my out of date and no longer supported whole house audio system. I already had speakers with wiring to a central location. Installed some racks, added a few Sonos Connect Amps and now have great audio throughout the house again. Love the easy of grouping rooms or listening to different music in different rooms. The iPhone app works great making it easy to listen to music on the iPhone, an external input (CD, Phono...) or streaming music services and streaming radio services.
I wanted to share my experience as a first-time eBay buyer. I was looking to repair my original amplifier when my technician recommended that I purchase a used Sonos Amp from eBay. I decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be a fantastic decision. The process was seamlessand I save $$$ > truly a plug-and-play experience. Given how well this went, I will definitely be making more purchases from the platform in the future.
These are superb and so easy to setup. Make sure in the app that you shut off audio compression. with compression on, the audio sounds "tin-y" and not great. Shut that off and you're back to perfection. I have one of these outside controlling my hard wired speakers and a beam inside. So simple to control them and have them at altering volumes. Amazing product. The banana plugs they ship with this are excellent. I actually have two sets of wires tying in to each channel.
The Sonos Connect:Amp was purchased to replace an old amp (non-Sonos). I have other Sonos products but having an amp was a new experience. The setup was the same as for my other Sonos speakers-straight forward and easy. It took me less than 15 minutes to unbox it, attach my speaker leads to it, remove the old amp, and complete the Sonos setup using the app. The sound quality from the speakers is excellent! I am very impressed with all of the Sonos products.
This product is fantastic. It is very simple to set up and what's even better is some of the wonderful functionality. I have it connected to a speaker switch with allows me to work 10 pairs of speakers in my basement/entertainment area. But what's even more cool is that fact that I can also connect it to my xfinity cable box and it has a menu option built in which allows you to control the speed of the voice/sound that leaves the cable box and syncs up with the Sonos system. With the right adjustment, the sound comes perfectly out of my cable box to me speakers through Sonos and syncs up perfectly. This device as met all of my needs. I love it!
