I bought two of the Sonos - One (Gen 2) speakers to couple with the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) I have for my Samsung TV. I have a small 400 sq ft apartment so placement of all the elements was not ideal, but I am very happy with the overall sound quality. I like the idea that I can have the sound bar only playing at times for the TV and group in the two additional One speakers for movies, music and better cable sound programing. E.G I ask the Amazon echo units to play something on the Move (example Sonos device name configured in Alexa app) and they can't. They are ok. I purchased 2 X Sonos Ones to replace a 20 year old Stereo in the Kitchen where the speaker are about 50% bigger than a Sonos Move speaker adn being fed via Auxinput from Echo DOT. Even after using the Apple EQ setup tool I wasn't impressed enough to leave it in place (I thought it was inferior). I relegated them to my lounge and linked in the Sonos move and am pleased with how that sounds (so for £800 it sounds about the same as something I paid £100 for with £20 DOT (call it £200 for inflation).Other things that make it not as good as it could be. You should be able to use the Move in bluetooth mode (so send from a projector or something) and allow it to pass that media onto wireless network to the rest of the Sonos equipment . That is a feature request I guess rather than a problem.There are plenty of other issues and anomalies, but I won't post them here as people have already probably got bored of reading this.So Sonos , you have so much still to resolve to call your speakers smart.

I can compare this directly to the Sonos Era 100 as we bought both at the same time. I can’t discern any notable difference in the sound between the two. It could be that we have them in two different room types, but I would not hesitate to recommend buying the One instead of the Era 100 while the One is still being sold. The cost savings (especially to get an open box One instead of a full-price Era 100) is fairly dramatic.We bought this to replace an Echo Dot. We still use Alexa with it but the sound is in a completely different league. It fills the room with music like the Dot never could. Alexa seems to be as responsive as the Dot as long as you give it a moment to acknowledge that it’s awake before you give it a command. The it was off to Richer Sounds in Weybridge Surrey. They had the Beam on demonstration but it was far from ideal. The Beam was mounted on the TV but the TV was in a corridor leading to the demonstration room. So the sound demonstration was compromised by location and source signal. So back to my Richer Sounds for more advice on whether to go for the Sonos Mini Sub or a pair of Sonos Ones. Richer said that whilst the One's would add to the bass it would not give me the cinema experience I was looking for. Here I couldn't make my mind up as I like the idea of bass but the surround sound was also on my shopping list when funds would permit. I took the plunge and bought the Mini Sub and the Sonos One's. I now have a complete Sonos system and couldn't be happier. I would say that the mini sub is an interesting sub and has taught me a little bit of a lesson. The system in total is realistic and detailed and the bass believable. It doesn't shake the floorboards in an exaggerated way but adds bass in a subtle manner and plays its part extremely well. I had a lot of advice from the gents at Richer Sounds and a have a system I cant stop listening to. I've now seen Sonos has a new range of speakers and will start looking out to upgrades but not for a while yet. Now back to my listening!

That is about 90kWh a year!! It's an ENORMOUS amount! With current energy prices it's also a significant expense for the consumer! This is not ok. Also, with all the Sonos devices around it's also a big burden on the environment. Other devices, not especially optimized, with even more features, like Nest Mini and Nest Hub have an idle consumption of 2W (still too high). Sonos really has to address this issue quickly by doing a firmware update which is targeted at energy efficiency. And I love that I can add Apple Music to the list of services. I also like the Airplay compatibility which works easily with my Apple products compared to the clunkiness of Bluetooth. Overall, I'm very happy with them and plan to expand with home theater components.
I have had a pair of Sonos One speakers in my kitchen since they were introduced to the market several years ago. They now sit at opposite ends of a large, long countertop in our newly renovated kitchen. They are attractive yet blend in with other things on the countertop but are powerful enough to push the sound out and around any items in the way. I just spoke to support (which answered the phone immediately) to ask how easy it would be to take these two stereo speakers in the kitchen to a Florida home rental and set up for 2 months. They told me it is automated through the app for simple set up and when I return home can easily integrate them back into my original system. I'm not surprised because they seem to always be upgrading the software to expand the capabilities of the products I purchased. I noticed they now support Google in addition to Alexa. If you buy these Sonos one speakers for any room but especially a kitchen you will not be disappointed and you will use them all the time. This is a fantastic product and good value for the outstanding quality of sound.

The sound doesn't get distorted at high volume and even sounds great at very low volume. Touch controls on top of speaker are very responsive. More units can be added to build a multiple room system where each speaker can be individually controlled and can play different content simultaneously.
