This is really expensive and it's hella proprietary. But I was splurging on a new full frame DSLR and I wanted to buy a high quality card. Got this for a bundle deal where it was $90 off this card. Performance is excellent. To pull photos/videos off I just plug the camera into the computer. Might get a CFExpress Type A Card reader eventually.

Least not tough enough to withstand a chew fest from my dachshund puppy. Kinda hoped for that kind of money it would. Your Sony A1 won't do half the things it's advertised to do without one of these. They don't tell you that when you go over it's impressive specs. If you a shoot raw (as I do) and do lots of focus stacking and time lapse (as I do) these fill up far too quickly. You cant shoot 8K without one of these and again it fills up quickly. You'll need at least 2 of them. Add that to the cost of your $7k camera.

It is really small so you have to make sure you keep track of where it's stored. The biggest downside of this card is the price. Spending $400 on 1x 160 GB card is quite expensive. However there aren't much other options available at the moment for cards of this type. I definitely recommend this card if you are an FX6 user and can afford it. It's essentially the epitome of ridiculous. It's mind blowingly fast (I mean, 150~ burst caches on the a1 clearing in seconds) and stupidly expensive. Incredibly easy to lose, drop, fumble, whatever. I honestly only take them out when I am over something that will catch them- they are one oops away from disappearing.People aren't exaggerating when they say the physical size of the card is tiny.I mean, between the 600 f4 and the a1 I'm obviously so pot committed I had no choice but to pay the *$800* for two of them.That being said, they really are spectacular. And, for those wondering, a single card gives you 2561 frames when the a1 is set up for the 30fps burst. So, double that and there you go. I have a Sony a1 and to get 30 frames a second RAW I need this card in the camera.The card does keep up with 30 fps and I only shoot 30 fps for up to about a few seconds and my buffer has not filled. I can shoot a burst and a few seconds and then later shoot another burst without waiting for the card to store the images. Purchased this card for our Sony FX6 camera. Allows for all the frame rates/speeds. Having a Sony card gives confidence in recording and storage. The card has a rugged outer case and fits perfectly into the camera slot and the Sony card reader. The 160GB size seems like a good trade-off between cost and storage capacity.
Great speed and able to use for every mode of A7SIII or A1. The value per GB is horrible especially when compared to CF-B. Sony made sure to have their most expensive FF cameras need this to unlock all of its potential. They have the monopoly on these cards.The cost is crazy expensive compared to the CF-B that write faster and have bigger capacities for less $$. To add insult to injury Sony manufactures Tough CF-B. I get the smaller form factor is crucial to keeping cameras smaller and the ability to use slots for CF-a or Sd cards but I hope another manufacturer starts putting these out soon. 400 bucks for 160GB is a TOUGH pill to swallow.Make sure you need one of these before purchasing otherwise stick with SD Cards.
I use nothing but Sony Alpha cameras. Since I shoot events and fashion, I needed a fast card. This was on sale and I just was amazed at the price. I saved over $100 and had to grab it. It's been a good card and I would definitely get one if you use the professional system of Sony Alpha cameras.
I was going to give this a 4 or 4.5 stars but changed my mind. So we all agree these cards are smallest and fastest in their category and only reason I was going to take a star(or a half) off was due to ridiculous price. However, after forgetting one of this card in my pant pocket and had it one through full cycle of PERMANENT PRESS Wash and HEAVY DUTY Dryer and STILL working like charm made me change my mind. Its been few months since the incident and the card is working perfectly fine, so the they are really 'TOUGH' and deserves the premium.
It's a shame to have to pay this much money for a CF Express card only to have it fail after less than two months of use. Yes I know it has a longer warranty but having to go through the process with sony to get it covered is going to be a pain. After taking a few photos I will inevitably get unable to display when reviewing photos. So far I have been able to get the photos off the card and onto the computer but it's a really pain to not be able to review photos in the field. If you can wait then wait! Sony can't corner the market and jack the price up on these cards forever.
