This is a super lens with awesome light gathering and great Bokeh from the round (as opposed to hex) aperture. This lens extends capabilities way beyond the usual 3.5 or 2.8 of other lenses. The Seller packaged the lens well, shipped the lens promptly, and it arrived right away in excellent condition.

This is a super lens with awesome light gathering and great Bokeh from the round (as opposed to hex) aperture. This lens extends capabilities way beyond the usual 3.5 or 2.8 of other lenses. The Seller packaged the lens well, shipped the lens promptly, and it arrived right away in excellent condition.
Use it with Sony alpha 100, 550 and 55. Outstanding resolution. Smal and light. f1.4 with only 55mm filter size. Use it mostly at indoors sport events with ISO 800 and 1/500s shutter speed. Great portrait lens with APS size sensor and macro with extension tubes.

This lens is very easy to blurry the background.Most times no need to use the flush light when take pictures inside.
I bought this used about 9 months ago for under £100. It is a testimony to the older Sony lenses in their build quality, that this lens is still performing the way it was intended when new. The petal hood provides good flare protection and is made of very sturdy plastic, so also acts as a first defence against any knocks. As can be expected from an ultra-wide lens, the distortion is pronounced, but easily corrected in camera and in post processing. Colours are very pleasing, having the old Minolta range. At a minimum of f2.8, this lens is good for indoor use, although corner sharpness can be improved by stopping down. This is of course normal with most lenses. This is an excellent lens. I bought it based on reviews I read on dyx um.com. it does not disappoint. Excellent wide-angle photos minimal distortion. The autofocus wanders a little bit but given the wide-angle I have no complaints.
