I'm sure this hood will work for the 35 GM, but the reason I'm even writing this review is because I'm having to buy a replacement after losing it at a gig. This is the FIRST lens hood I've lost in 8 years of photography. Before I lost it, it would be common for me to find it on the floor without me realizing it came off. I've even had people come up and bring it to me, saying they saw it fall off. The button release is a curse. I've never found a standard lens hood that is all that difficult to put on or take off. This is a solution for a problem that didn't exist but created a new problem in the process. And now they charge almost $60 to replace it... shame on you, Sony.

I bought a used 35 1.4 lens that didn’t come with the hood, and this one works perfectly.
