Before purchasing the ZV-E10, I did a bunch of research into the cameras available around this price point. I don't have an enormous amount of expendable cash, but needed a better camera for work (after using high-end smartphones for video work for a while). Bought this a week ago, i'm happy to be honest, battery duration is very, average, stabilization is very average even when active stabilization is on, sony does have a software for stabilizing the footage using the gyroscopic data that the camera collects during the recordings, that said, you can only render 1 miserable clip at a time, and if you want to render multiple, you've got to pay, which is shambles, I understand that they want to make money, but if you want to vlog and have decent stabilization, this camera is not for you. I got the Sony ZV-E10L on sale at the end of July 2024. I needed a good quality camera with interchangeable lenses for my YouTube channel and for general photography when travelling around the world. I did get extra two battery packs with charger that was only ÂŁ30, and it works the same as the original Sony battery. I also got a dummy battery to keep the ZV E10 constantly on while using it as a webcam for streaming and for YouTube filming.⢠You can continuously film with the camera for hours. The maximum continuous recording time for a single movie shooting session is approximately 13 hours.⢠Lenses â you can either get the original Sony lenses or there are many other makes that are compatible for more competitive prices. I prefer to use original Sony lenses but if someone is on a budget then the option is there. It's much more difficult for Canon cameras as their cameras' compatibility with third part accessories is very limited from my previous experience.⢠Plenty of second-hand lenses and accessories available on the market. This makes the camera an excellent choice for most people who may not want to spend thousands of ÂŁs for simple accessories or for additional lenses.Not so good points:⢠I was surprised that the screen only opens to around 176 degrees and not to full 180 degrees. This creates a slight angle when you are looking at the screen while recording videos. However, in practice this does not bother me, and I actually forgot about this small issue.⢠The menu is not much intuitive, and I had to learn what is what and where I can find things. I am still learning to use new features but there is a lot of information online and itâs fairly easy to find a solution to each situation.⢠The internal microphone is just ok. Can record voice in acceptable quality but for vlogging you need an external microphone (either cable connected or wireless). I do use DJI Mic version 1 and it works well with the Sony ZV E10. There are plenty of other microphones that are fully compatible with the ZV E10, for example Rode Wireless Go II, Hollyland Lark Max and other makes.⢠The inbuild option for online streaming and connection to a computer as a webcam is limited as it does not give the full resolution of the camera that is available. The resolution is set to 1,024 Ă 576 pixels max. So, to shoot my videos in full HD I had to purchase the Elgato Camlink 4K which I do use to connect the camera to my computer. In my view Sony should have a build in feature to resolve this issue as this camera is mainly vlogging camera so connection to a computer is a must feature. I understand that this was resolved in the ZV-E10II. Despite the issue the good thing is that the Elgato Cam Link 4K was inexpensive (there are plenty second hand available on the market).⢠No viewfinder (and no external option either). The tiny LCD is the only practical option. When I was using the camera during very sunny days the screen does have an option âbright sun displayâ which does help. However, for more pro photography this camera is limited. I was aware about this before purchasing the camera and for me this is not an issue, but it may be for those who are looking for a more pro photography kit. If that is the case then you may look at the Sony a6400 and above series.In my view the Sony ZV-E10âs is great to be used mainly as vlogging camera and for video creators (for YouTube or other social media). At the same time, itâs good enough for occasional photography but itâs limited due to the lack of the viewfinder.Itâs my first Sony camera (before I had Canon and Nikon cameras). Iâm more than happy from the Sony ZV-E10 and I can fully recommend it. In future I am planning to get another Sony camera with a viewfinder so I can use it as main camera for photography.

I was looking the ZV1 initially which should have been fine but decided the ZVE10 would be better as I could build on the system and it also had the facility for headphone monitoring. Not that it would make such a big difference to my requirements but I just thought it would be better to go up a notch. When I received the camera I absolutely loved the size. Itâs smaller than my gh5ii but most importantly the auto focus tracking is definitely better and this is the main reason why I decided to go for the Sony. Going back to the size of the camera it is certainly a lot easier for me to travel with this kit if working away from home and that was also one of the reasons I was attracted to the ZVE10. Certainly the ZV1 would be more compact but weighing one against the other perhaps as someone who use to own a lot of slr equipment I canât get away from the idea of having the ability to change lenses. The kit lens for the ZVE10 is a very compact zoom 16-50 mm and is absolutely tiny. The image quality seems to be great for what I need. Maybe for photography someone might prefer to spend a bit more on a prime lens but the purpose of me buying this kit was to have something that was capable and portable and I have to say I am really happy with my purchase. I forgot to mention that the built in microphone is also very good and will easily serve me well if I am without a mic. It would have been nice if Sony included a body and rear lens cap which I ended up buying separately but this was not such a massive issue but certainly the first time Iâve bought a lens and camera that did not include these items. Currently Sony are offering a ÂŁ100 discount and maybe this is because I have heard a MKii version is on the cards. But what one needs to remember (especially with the speed of development with digital equipment) is what was good yesterday should still be good for a number of years and you just anticipate frequents changes and upgrades are made as technology progresses and yes it will probably be cheaper to buy the same next year. But consider what you need it for and ask âdoes it serve its purpose?â. If the answer is Yes then enjoy your equipment as long as you can and only upgrade if you feel you need to. I gave this product 4 stars as I feel improvements could be made to the menu system and the wireless transfer rate is considerably slower than my Panasonic. But other than this and for the sake of repeating myself. This is a really great camera and will serve my needs very well.

I owed the ZV-1F for about 9 months before upgrading and it was the perfect camera for a beginner getting into photography and videography. The photos and videos are still amazing and I can't over the fact that the AF and bokeh looks so good in the photos/videos (the AF is also pretty fast)! The microphone captures good audio and it does a great job for what it is - even for vlogging. Although, I would definitly say to invest in a good microphone if you're looking for something that will capture the fullness of your voice.Somethings that I don't really like about the camera are: the batteries and the touchscreen functionality. The battery drains pretty fast if you have the camera up and running. You will DEFINITELY need extra batteries for this but amazon has some good bundle deals for this! As for the touchscreen functionality, there is ONLY touch to track or touch to focus, no other functions than that. As I mentioned, I came from the ZV-1F, where the whole screen has touchscreen functionality. I was pretty sad to find that out since I was so used to the ZV-1F's screen.My final thoughts on the Sony EV-E10 is that it is an amazing camera for what it will give you. Although, it is more on the advance side since the settings can be a little hard to understand from a beginner, it is still a good camera to LEARN and GROW your skills from. The lens are something that can always be switched out so you don't always need to use the 16-50mm kit lens (but know that lens do get expensive if you are looking to upgrade). I do not regret my decision of buying this camera and I am very happy with it!

Decided to upgrade to this sony one. And i love the S&Q feauture i am able to create cute fun videos for myself and social media friends. I like the size of this camera, the interchangeabke lens, and the many accesory options out there. The menu (once learned) is very simple to maneuver. I like the quick access to changing the settings in this camera. I use human/animal detection alot. I am starting to play around with the filters as well. I am learning how to fully articulate the manual settings, but when i need a quick shot i can easily switch to aperture or shoot. I think this camera is wonderful in low light settings. I take a ton of indoor family shots in my home. The battery as i have experience with many cameras, is crap. So i have ordered backup batteries to change out when needed. My favorite feature is the small but not too small size of this device. I use the kit lens quite often. When i want more portrait style photos ill switch it to sonys 30mm, to give a great bokeh effect. Im learning this camera jargon. I did watch many youtube videos when i received this too, so you must do your homework if you truly want the full sony camera zv-e10 experience
This 4K video is what I was looking for when I bought this camera. Although the camera is marketed as a vlogger camera, I am using it for traditional sports photography and particularly sports video. My prior Sony Alpha does a great job taking photos but cannot keep up with fast paced sports action that this camera is capable of doing. The drawbacks so far is the lack of a view finder for taking photos, an older mirrorless sensor (which didn't concern me too much) and my older Sony Alpha lenses will not fit without an adapter - which was the biggest drawback. However, I did pick up an inexpensive lens adapter but it doesn't have the ability to autofocus so I use it with my Sony fixed lens for recording video which actually works great. I bought my ZV-E10 without the standard kit lens so I can't comment on the kit lens quality. Sony lenses are expensive but I did find that people sell their higher end camera telephoto kit lenses which are a good bargain and work great with this camera and is remarkably quiet when autofocusing. I am still looking for a good compact lens for travel. The camera does not come with a second battery or external batter charger but it uses the same battery form factor as my older Alpha camera so that actually worked out great for me. Now I have an external charger and extra battery.
I love this camera quality on this device. Iâm still learning a lot of features on the camera. I use it mainly for photos and YouTube videos. The only thing that I donât like is the stabilization. I have used the post production app that Sony provides but some videos are still terrible after. Talking head videos are okay but for vlogging itâs terrible. Which is weird because itâs marketed as a clogging camera. For vlogging I use my cannon g7 mark ii still because of its easiness to use. Talking head this camera really shines because of its quality.
