Everything worked great. I will say this when typing in your password for Wi-Fi, if you have a capital letter, there is an arrow on the right of the keyboard on the screen. You need to click on that to go back and forth from small letters to caps. My only other concern was with the packaging of the player. There was no paper on the bottom for the player to set on or on top to protect it. This has 0 to do with Sony or Walmart. Walmart does not ship these. It came from Teds Electronics. They were very communicative on shipping etc. they just need to communicate with their shipping dept.

Blu-Ray player works fine. The interface and apps for the WiFi suck. The absolute worst WiFi capable player I’ve ever owned and I’ve always bought Sony. The only useable apps available are YouTube and Netflix. The rest are garbage. The interface is sluggish to the point it’s aggravating trying to navigate. If you’re looking for a player with WiFi capabilities, this isn’t the one you want

Absolute junk. I bought this device from a local Walmart. The DVD player works fine but it takes minutes of staring at the Netflix or any other streaming site before it loads. After the site loads, the control is sluggish. After watching a movie, the device completely locks up. I have to unplug the power source from the back. This behavior is the same whether using Wi-Fi or wired. Very disappointed. I have other Sony products and they work very well, but will be cautious about Sony in the future.

If you're ONLY going to use it for bluray or dvds, this unit is fine for that. But if you want to use it for streaming as well, DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT. Sony should be ashamed for putting out such garbage. Again, for discs, it's ok, but if you want to stream anything like Netflix, this unit is SLOW and it's very prone to freezing!! Also, it will often fail to connect to the streaming service!!! Buy something else, or a newer unit. Trust me. I have 2 of these, actually. One I use with a smart tv because it actually is a good disc player. But the other I use with an old school flat screen because it was on sale cheap and I regret that decision.
DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY ON THIS DEVICE!! I am completely unsatisfied with this Sony product and am very disappointed because I have never had an issues with Sony products before. Built in Wi-Fi is VERY flaky. The device keeps kicking me off of the internet constantly, multiple times a week. This is a HUGE frustration since I bought this device mainly for streaming Netflix for me and my kids. A lot of times I go through the trouble of re-entering in my internet password, then re-entering my email and my password for Netflix just to have this device tell me there was an error and it was unable to connect, then it has already kicked me off of the internet and I have to start all over again! Sometimes it shuts off in the middle of trying to open Netflix, even if you're already logged in, then I have to power the device back on again, and usually when this happens it has kicked itself off of the internet AGAIN. This thing truly sucks! Again, do not waste your money. I will be getting a TV that streams Netflix and only using this hunk of junk for playing DVD's...an expensive DVD player is exactly what this is.
Generally won't turn, either by remote control or the on-unit switch.Drawer has locked (the child lock is off). I think the motor burned out, 'cause the unit kept trying to open it on its own without human intervention. (I took the batteries out of the remote so no stuck buttons. And the batteries are fresh.) The unit automatically turn on when turned off. Automatically turns on when plugged into power supply, which it did not do when I got it.Connected but not connected to TV: TV recognizes the device and I can see a Sony Blu-ray screen, but the device no longer sends any other signal (menus, apps/steaming list) or controls on screen. I used to use it to stream when I got it.It was working in May, the last time I used it.Less than 3 years old: now ready for ... MoreGenerally won't turn, either by remote control or the on-unit switch.Drawer has locked (the child lock is off). Purchased this player to replace a Samsung dvd player that started to pause during a movie. It was very easy to set up. I didn't care for the streaming capability. It seams to be very limited in content but that's not why I chose this Sony player. I have watched 3 movies and no issues. The remote is easy to use. It just operates the player and I don't have to hunt for the stop, pause or play button. I think some reviews complained about the hdmi cord not being included. I've never bought a dvd player that came with one and I always read the description carefully several times before buying so I know what is needed to hookup item.so far, the Sony blu-ray BDP-S3700/DDP plays my dvd's and blu-ray movies very well. Happy with it and price was within my budget.
DVD player works great for Tubi and DVDs. But it you're looking to stream Netflix, buy something else!! I bought one and all it did was freeze up constantly. I even called Sony for help. The guy was completely unhelpful. I thought maybe I just got a bad player, so I even exchanged it for another. Same happens! I have no idea why. It's connected correctly. But freezes up every time we try to watch Netflix. Extremely frustrating! And I missed the return window by 3 days because Walmart changed their return policy. If you want a player to watch Netflix on, buy a different player!!!
Sonny used to be a reputable company with good quality control but in their cheaper stuff it's junk. I can't even play YouTube on this thing because it keeps saying it doesn't have enough memory.... In 2023. I tried everything to get YouTube to work but it still says doesn't have enough memory... In 2023. And the Blu-ray player doesn't give you the option to just download one app. You have to download their pre-chosen apps first. But then it says there's not enough memory to play anything from the apps.... In 2023. I can't even upload a photograph on this website to show you what it says. Horrible Walmart and Sony.
I was really excited to replace an old dvd player with this Sony. The reviews were mixed, but the option to have Netflix and other apps without a separate device sounded great. It wasn’t. Don’t waste your money. Day one- opened box plugged it in and found out there is no HDMI cord included, even though it clearly states included on the box.. Luckily I had an extra one. The dvd player worked as expected. The next day.. Day 2 - I decided to watch a dvd. The player wouldn’t turn on, not with the remote or button on player. I unplugged and replugged it in and the power worked. Well, that’s all. The remote without me syncing it, would power up my tv, but it wouldn’t open the door to put a dvd in the player. The button on the player wouldn’t open door either. I powered on ... MoreI was really excited to replace an old dvd player with this Sony. Please don’t waste yours. Not worth a dime.
