Really surprised at how long flash lasted once I added stronger rechargeable baterries. Great speed light; I had tried others but this one is the one to rule them all?

More power, better build quality and better flash rep rate than the earlier version. I had the Mk1 version of this flash. The earlier flimsy mount shoe broke and I had to replace it with the Mk2 version. This has a MUCH stronger shoe and better overall build quality. I shoot largely macro and and can get far more rapid shots off with this than the old one. Also seems to have a much better, more reliable wireless connection than the Mk1. I am very happy with it and, if I had realized how much better it is, would have upgraded even if the Mk1 had not broken.

I would love this flash system so much, except, the radio syncing options prevent using more than one commander at a time. So if you photograph with more than one camera, or if you're an event photographer with a second shooter, only one commander can be used. Other flash systems, don't have this design flaw, and it's so disappointing that Sony continues to disallow multiple commanders. It's something they could fix with a firmware update...

It's a great flash. Fires consistently and fast. The locking system has developed a weird clicking sound and the flash feels loose in the shoe. I'm going to send it back for warrantee repair
I love the Flash. For some reason the box was delivered without the mini stand. Still waiting to hear back from BH. Quick reply and then have not responded. Flash is excellent and would recommend it. Will purchase another flash to work with this one if BH gets back to me about the original mini stand.
Excellent, sturdy and confidence inspiring flash. It is large and heavy, not ideal for compact Sony cameras, but it is powerful and feature rich.Wireless features are excellent, but I have used other makes with more user friendly disposition. I don't know why but very often I feel, while using Sony photographic equipment, as it was not designed by photographers.Nevertheless, once you set up the flash in tandem with other off-camera flashes wirelessly, it performs flawlessly.Extremely accurate light measuring in coordination with auto focusing in all AF modes, as far as I can tell.I particularly like the rotating head of this flash.
Other reviews seem to talk bad on this flash but it does exactly what I expect it to do, and does so with some cool tricks. I love how the flash head moves, personally, and by rotating it to the side and popping a bounce card on it, no red-eye issues in most cases. Plenty of output and batteries seem to last a good long while. Nicely done, Sony.
HVL-F60RM2 DOES NOT HAVE AF ASSISTANT!Nikon D3 with its speedlight AF Assist in low light event shooting or simple step and repeat red carpet condition puts Sony A7 with all its flashes or even with Profoto A1X in the trashhhh. When will Sony realize that they are loosing the EVENT photographers market. WE need AF ASSISTANT!
This is a really nice flash with a flexible head to direct the light. The only nuisance is trying to set it up as a commander to operate other Sony flashers. I couldn't find any real online instruction, but this does not deter from the quality of the flash.
I have a Sony A1 and let me just say that the GODOX were good but they didn't match my camera's speed. This Flash a little more costly but amazing and works like magic I am mad I didn't own on the last wedding I shot cause it would of changed my photography like night and day! If you have a Sony camera don't be cheap buy it and buy the battery also
