This digital model is perfect. I bought it to replace a previous ps5 from the early generation (those early ps5 models were equipped with faulty wireless cards which failed after approximately 1 year, and not replaceable because the wireless cards were soldered to the main board). I previously had one of the early models of ps5 with the disc reader built in, God of War edition. It was great from a digital aspect, but the disc reader was always so loud I chose not to use it for games or movies, ever. The slim digital edition is hands down my favorite. All pros, no cons, smaller footprint, same powerful machine. If you don’t care about a disc reader, this is the one to buy. If you ever change your mind down the road you can always purchase the disc reader attachment made by Sony to attach to the digital console.

When i received the playstation and took it out of the box the safety seal was broken, the top was open and it was damaged on the sides of the box. I'm hoping this item wasn't returned and works properly because I intend to give it as a gift. Walmart needs to make sure online shoppers aren't being shipped open items because we do have options to return the item and prefer not to have to be bothered with the hassle of standing in a long line to return something that should be sealed and unopened. Its an inconvenience and it defeats the purpose of online shopping. Something that cost almost 500 dollars should be sealed and new. This will be my last large purchase from Walmart due to this disrespectful move on their behalf. Items shipped to customers need to be new unopened and sealed, not damaged on the box and opened. This was not damaged during transit. It was placed in the box like this. I didn't pay for an open box item and should not have received it in that condition.

Upon opening the item I realized only after picking up the console that I nearly snapped my ps5 in half; leaving a soft bend and a lasting impression on the surface. Id say dont even bother with this new version unless you plan on taking the console apart and using it inside a newly miniturized chassis. Id be more than willing to pay double to see that product, than to be satisfied with what appears to be a “mini-me” version of Dr. Evil from the movie Austin Powers of the originally sized Playstation 5. I am thankful I have Best Buy Total Tech Membership-a protection plan which covers accidental damage and a great return policy, but upset at the fact than even the cost of such plan was a greater value than the actual product than I had purchased. I am certain I would of most likely avoided purchasing this product all together from any other retailer than Best Buy in this regard and I may wish to return if the PlayStation exclusive console games dont fair as well as the console itself.
