Pricey, (my son and i went halves) but for existing PS5 owners wanting to experience VR it's a no brainer. I feel i should mention the existing catalogue is not huge, and not backwards compatible with PSVR 1 titles. This really is only a minor disappointment that will be soon forgotten with the titles slated for release in the coming months. I was pretty impressed with the og psvr at it's price point but PSVR2 is some next level kit. The headset is comfortable and easy to setup, the tether cable is light and not really bothersome nor intrusive to immersion. The controllers are beautifully designed and feel natural and intuitive. I opted for the standalone kit (without Horizon COTM) and instead purchased the Sony dock which is not necessary but a really nice QOL ... MorePricey, (my son and i went halves) but for existing PS5 owners wanting to experience VR it's a no brainer. Next up was BeatSabre, an essential purchase and i could honestly argue (if money was no barrier) that this game is worth the price of admission alone and is a free upgrade to the PS5 for owners of the PS4 version. Only complaint is the smallish catalogue of songs and lack of custom content but there are plenty of options to tweak and keep the challenge interesting. Thirdly we purchased Pavlov, just amazing with a really nice community of helpful people that is a breath of fresh air from the degenerates you encounter on COD. If you would like to get into VR and own a PS5 but have any reservations, don't...this kit is incredibly impressive and will blow your mind. I don't know what else to say other than Sony have really put some effort and thought into delivering a great out of box experience for console gamers. The eye tracking, pass through, tracking in general, quality and design are all top shelf and i have not even mentioned the 2k Oled displays.I'm in gaming heaven, and see no reason to ever leave the house again! 🤣

Makes me feel like a kid again when I received my SNES.I have played Gran Turismo 7 and Kayak VR. Gran Turismo 7 is easy to use. I can't understand how to use the Kayak expertly and other people are a lot better than me. Kayak VR is still impressive, they start you of in a pool, but the controls were difficult for me. As far as games I own are concerned, I still have Cities VR and Job Simulator to try. All my time has been in GT7, YouTube, and enjoying the setup process trying to get the perfect picture.Negatives of the headset, it is easy to plug and play, but adjusting the goggles for the best view takes some work. I suppose a 13 year old could do it, but sometimes even I a 40 year old man of average plus intelligence struggled to make it work. I did make it work though. I was looking forward to Jaunt from the original PSVR, but they call it RAD now and for me it doesn't do VR mode. People say Sony will fix this. Not everything is 4K either but for a VR headset it is tolerable. For example, GT7 may not always be in 4K when racing but it looks better and is actually enjoyable unlike GT Sport on the previous headset.YouTube is great with PSVR2 because it simulates a 90 inch TV or maybe even larger, this is all in 1080p or so quality. Another reason why it is worth the initial price.Overall, love the thing, I see myself spending a lot of time in PSVR2 and I would recommend other people to buy it.

For those familiar with VR, this could be a good upgrade as you'll already understand that short-form games that cannot be experienced any other way (Beat Saber, Synth Riders, Pistol Whip) are what you'll be doing most of the time, and VR is just not ready for longer games. Resident evil village and Horizon call of the mountain may impress greatly, but only in 30min sessions. If you know what you're getting into consider the value of what is an amazing novelty.

Paired with PS5 this is a revolutionary experience. If you are completely new to VR this will blow your mind due to an already large selection of older VR titles ported from other VR systems and the new PS5 exclusives. (If you are coming from Quest or other you know what to expect but this does more with better graphics at a trade off of being tethered)I have a few VR games on PS5 but after starting Gran Turismo 7 have barely touched the others. This is true evolution in how to play a racing game and I am not even that big of a racing fan. This however is different. You are no longer playing a game, you are IN the car on a world racing track, racing the game or people around the world.Great rhythm games like Pistol Whip and Synth Riders will give you a great workout to music. VR Golf is a great way to relax. Nice of 3D puzzle games. Horror and exploration games.Expectations must be set right before making your purchase. YouTube videos demonstrate what looks like a crystal clear image when playing these games. This is not the case. Yes it's a 4k display but you will see some grain. This however will soon be ignored as the immersion factor takes over. Some people need slower due to potential motion sickness.Normal flat games can also be played with this on. Meaning you can have a huge screen to play your favourite games. Whether you like playing with the headset on is another matter and up to an individual.By the way, one big plus is that after the initial set up you can use PSVR2 while the TV can be used by other members of your household separately. Essentially freeing up the TV. (Not sure if PSVR2 always needs to be connected to the TV for this to work or if you can take it to another room TV free.)Watching films on this headset is a superb experience. This is where the image is very clear and the screen size can be adjusted from huge to small. Essentially an IMAX on your sofa. Shame you can't share the experience with others at the same time.

irst and foremost, PSVR2 is better than PSVR1 in every single way. The graphics are far better, the tracking is far more accurate, no need for an external camera set up, and no confusing mess of cords. The entire headset is powered and hooked up through a single USB-C cord, to the front of a PlayStation 5. You can turn around! The cameras are built into the front of the headset, so you can quickly turn around and you won't lose tracking. Analog sticks on both controllers gives developers so many more options. The sense controllers coming in the box means no more lack of uniformity between games. You either use the PS5 Sense controller, or the PSVR2 Sense Controllers. That's it. No more schlocky games with odd control schemes. The new controllers are a game changer. Adaptive triggers add a whole new level of satisfaction. Pulling a trigger is so satisfying. The headset can rumble, like when you hit a wall in Gran Turismo 7 at 120 miles per hour, or when you get punched in Creed.Eye tracking is not a gimmick. On top of foveated rendering, where graphical improvement is made where you are looking in game, but it can also have surprising effect, like when you play PokerStars VR and can watch your opponent glance at their cards. As someone who migrated from PlayStation VR1, the difference is incredible. No more worrying about the perfect lighting, or reflective clothing, the positioning of my external camera when sitting or standing. The games possible on PSVR2 are insane. Gran Turismo 7 is amazing, Resident Evil 8 is impressive, and Horizon Call of the Mountain is beautiful. The same games that were available on PSVR1, such as After the Fall, are made much better on PSVR2, with improved graphics, haptic feedback from the headset, adaptive triggers, and analog sticks on each controller.Yes, you have a single cord running from the headset, but you can run it up a pulley system if it bothers you. A friend of mine has a Quest 2 and rarely gets to play. As a result, whenever he does, his headset is never charged enough. I'll take a corded headset with improved graphics over a wireless one.Once you get past motion sickness if you are new to Virtual Reality gaming, this will change the way you think of gaming.

A cluttered living room can take a while.Gaming:Pros: The immersion found in VR-compatible open-world, 3D games! With one game in particular, I found myself more engrossed in the shooting range tutorial than in the main game because it was just fun! VR-compatible 2D games surround you with a distracting backdrop, both visually and auditorily, while you try to focus on the main board. They don't fully utilize the VR system, but it's cool.Cons: The library of VR-compatible games is limited, but thankfully growing. Also, it's sometimes easy to go environmentally out-of-bounds when playing. Make sure to play in a relatively open area to reduce the chances. In conclusion, this is a nice addition to the PlayStation family but not a must-have. If you're on the fence, it's probably best to save yourself $600. However, if you're looking for a new (more immersive) way to play, this is your device.

1) Price - yes, it's expensive. However, compared to VR1, it is similar. Many have forgotten that VR1 was cheaper initially, but you then had to buy the Playstation camera & the Playstation Move controllers seperately. That is no longer the case.2) Graphics - are they as clear as being 2 meters from a 4k TV? No. They are 2k per lense sitting 1cm from your eyeball, of course you will see pixelation in text if you look for it. The clearest point is in the middle of your vision. Use peripheral vision and some features will be less clear. If it bothers you, move your head!3) Gameplay - simply outstanding. The option of sitting, standing or walking is amazing. So far I have caught myself ducking and weaving gunfire in the Star Wars demo, gotten sea sick in a kayak in rough seas and had to change out of clothes dripping with sweat after 45 minutes in Gran Turismo - combine this VR with a seat and wheel and it is the closest thing today to real car racing. It truely is an immersive experience and you will forget about the outside world if you're not careful! The bad - when you get sweaty (and you will), the lenses can fog up. This was an issue with VR1 too. It still suffers the issue with having to re-center occasionally too. I would also prefer if the controllers worked a bit further out from my body when in Standing mode, so I don't get out of sync when paddling my kayak!

Upgrade your VR to an IMAX level experience.

I have owned an Oculus Go and the first Oculus Quest prior to purchasing the PSVR2. I purchased a PS5 specifically so I could get a PSVR2 and I have no regrets. The PS5 alone is a great gaming device (I already own an Xbox Series X, Switch OLED) so this new VR device is what made me take the plunge. This device blows the Oculus out of the water in terms of technical capabilities and presentation. Call of the Mountain is a great way to experience this right out of the box, and is a fun way to be immersed in the Horizon universe from a different perspective. This is a wondeful bundle and worth it as purchasing the device standalone still requires you to make a separate game purchase to play anything. This is a wondeful bundle and worth it as purchasing the device standalone still requires you to make a separate game purchase to play anything. The device is very light for a VR headset, and thanks to a single, long thin cord and that alone, you get the power of PS5 graphics in a VR headset. All this without the heavy battery overheating your forehead you have in the standalone headsets like the Quest. If you can afford the cost, well worth the price of admission. Not to mention an already great game library (Resident Evil Village VR, No Man's Sky VR, Star Wars Tales of Galaxy's Edge, and many more). My other issue with Oculus is the constant headset upgrades every 1-3 years which gets very pricey. This device will most likely last the console generation.

Vast improvement over PSVR1
26 February 2023

PSVR1 owner here. Picked this up on launch day and both myself and my son are impressed on how much better this is. Controllers are a massive improvement over the old PS Move controllers.Image is nice and bright, clarity is crisp, colors really vibrant. Its important that you take the time to figure out how to wear it on your head properly or you may have blurriness or chromatic aberration (purple fringing). Its not a daunting procedure and both my 11 yr old son and I figured it out for ourselves in under a minute. The eye tracking is really cool and works great. Very simple to set up. Something as simple as selecting menu items by simply looking at it really makes it feel next gen.I have no complaints really. Having the power of the PS5 do the heavy lifting results in way better graphics than you can achieve with a mobile CPU built into the headset.Overall very happy with PSVR2 and would definitely recommend.PS - something I don't see much about on reviews: Adjusting the IPD (distance between your eyes) with the wheel on the headset is fast and easy when swapping the headset between users. (aka without changing ps5 profiles). Just double press the ps button on the sense controller and pick "adjust visibility". This will rerun the graphical setup for adjusting the IPD. Fast and easy.

Very poor visual quality
25 February 2023

Utterly disappointing and not fit for purpose. The image quality is horrendous, it's a blurry, grainy, washed out, colour bleeding mess. So much so that it's impossible to immerse oneself in the experience or even read text for that matter. It's just bad, really bad.The headset is extremely uncomfortable with rigid pieces of plastic indenting themselves into your forehead and nose. There's no padding to prevent this, just a horrible thoughtless design. The included earohones are garbage. You can circumvent this with over ear headphones however this adds to the already heavy, fatiguing, sweat inducing headset issues.Controllers need charging within a small handful of hours. The head tracking is constantly lost, pulling you out of a game every few minutes and ... MoreUtterly disappointing and not fit for purpose. The image quality is horrendous, it's a blurry, grainy, washed out, colour bleeding mess.
