This headphone is one of the best one I have ever used! The sound quality definitely does feel premium, and that the crisp of the treble is evident. Indeed the bass is phenomenal for the pricing. Some of the music that I have been listening to for a long time sounds superb with the bass and sub bass the headphone delivers! The fact that Sony allows the customer to utilize their companion app for an equalizer setting and a Virtual Phone Technology setting, is outstanding! If one is not pleased with enough bass, then one can simply try using bass boost mode with the help of the equalizer. If the bass is still not enough, then one should use the custom option for maximum bass boost. This headphone is certainly designed who crave for bass bass bass!

Worth the purchase. I got these for myself for Christmas last year and I don’t regret spending $250 on them. Oh yes, they are expensive for headphones. They have great sound quality, comfortable on ears, and the adjustable head strap fits almost any head size. They have a mic built into them which is pretty decent. Noise cancelling and ambient noises features. You do all this through the Sony apps you have to download on phone. You can pair them to device without apps but you cannot set the equalizer how you want or adjust any settings without apps. You can also plug them up via wired cords that come with, if you choose, but they are Bluetooth wireless headphones. The battery life is standard, maybe 4 hours, I’ve never had mine drop below 20%.

For this price range multi functionality is a must. The product collects the ambient sounds for the meeting and the calls to be heard by others. Sometimes One cannot be heard by the caller even despite of connecting again and again. Lamest thing is the facility of two connected devices. What use is that if at one time only one can be used? I tried to take a call and listren to the audio from a series I was watching on my laptop. It didnt work. Thirdly, the features... they are super lousy. I tried decreasing or increasing the vollume. It doesnt work at all... i cannot believe a company like sony made something like this....

Sony has good quality sound in general, and these headphones don't disappoint in that department. Even ambient sound / noise control functions work well and the hand and touch control features are very useful.Where these fail, however, is when connected to any sort of PC via bluetooth and you need to use the headset microphone for voice chat. The dual microphones are good and the input sound quality is crisp and clear. However, and this is a BIG drawback, using the headset (handsfree AG) microphone as input also locks you out of using the stereo headphone output and instead forces you to rely on the low quality mono (handsfree AG) output channel. This means that you can only hear the flat mono sound from the headphones while actively using the mic. This appears to be a hardware lock and not unique to these headphones at all, as many wireless headphones have this problem (Razer Kaira Pro as well). Experiencing music and games with this limitation is very disappointing. For low quality and some standard headphones this might be acceptable, but for higher quality headphones and most gaming headphones, this is absolutely defeating the purpose of functioning as quality headsets (voice chat). If you have a separate / dedicated mic you can use instead of the built in one, you can use the stereo output of the headphones and enjoy the good quality sound that they offer while still chatting with your friends. So unless you use them only for chat, or only for enjoying music, movies and games and not both at the same time, these will not do a good job.
The headphones themeselves are very good, they work well, the noice cancelling is effective but not annoying and they're comfortable, that said there's two "details" that do make them a bit impractical:CHARGINGThe charging cable is shockingly short, around 15cm, and there's no plug, so chargin the headphones is a real pain. If I leave them attached to the computer at night they won't charge because the computer isn't open (while being on - I used to charge my phone this way and never had issues). I can't charge them any other way because I don't if using my iPad's plug would be okay + the cable is so short that the only way to charge them with a plug would be to keep them on the floor, which is not exactly great.Considering that the charging time is fairly ... MoreThe headphones themeselves are very good, they work well, the noice cancelling is effective but not annoying and they're comfortable, that said there's two "details" that do make them a bit impractical:CHARGINGThe charging cable is shockingly short, around 15cm, and there's no plug, so chargin the headphones is a real pain. Considering the price I really don't understand the choice to not include a normal lengh charging cable + plug.IT CAN CONNECT TO ONE DEVICE AT A TIMEWhile this is not a huge issue, it is still a little annoying considering that Bose's headphones (that my partner has) have been able to connect to two devices at once for quite a few years. I would imagine that such a feature would be useful for most people, as anyone I know uses their headphones with at least two devices.Again switching device isn't terribly time consuming (first switch off the headphones, then switch them back on and keep the on button pushed to start pairing mode), but whenever I'm watching something and I receive a call it's a bit of a pain having to do this whole thing just to be able to take the call using the headphones.I am overall happy with them and love the touch feature, I just feel that it would have taken very little effort to improve the charging and pairing experience)
So I scooped these up about 2ish yrs ago primarily for going on long walks and trips. These are so awesome they have become my everything headphones, by this i mean I use it when I want to do some late night gaming as it pairs well with my X900e. If my wife is sowing and I want to read and isolate myself I'll slip these on just to utilize the Noise Cancelling. Or if I want to watch a movie I'll pair this with my TV again and watch the movie as with the extra bass it's almost like the cinema is right there on your head LOL. I picked these up on sale through Amazon and did lots of research before I bought these and these have got to be the best bang for your buck.Be aware that these headphones are very punchy on the bass, though this does not muddy The sound ... MoreSo I scooped these up about 2ish yrs ago primarily for going on long walks and trips. Don't listen to all those other reviews that complain about how much bass this has, it's literally in the name! XB(extra Bass) The only complaints I agree with is that Sony has to come up with a better way of naming their products wh-xb900n LOL.
I've been wearing these now for 6 months but I'm still getting that feeling of surprise every time I try a new song that uses a unique bass-line. I think the main strength of these headphones is the heavy bass giving the impression of a pair of headphones with a better, richer sound for half the price. So for the price I would definitely recommend them. Things that could be better: well when I was buying them I was also considering the WH-1000XM3 and I'm sure others are too. The 1000XM3 is definitely better for overall sound hands down which is what I was originally going to buy but after hearing these I could see a lot of value to be saved and I'm glad I did.The heavy bass hits really well and I've had a lot of sony stuff in the past and so the quality is similar ... MoreI've been wearing these now for 6 months but I'm still getting that feeling of surprise every time I try a new song that uses a unique bass-line. I do think that these headphones suffer in the noise cancelling area and this is something common to sony headphones compared to say the Bose 700 which are truly better for noise cancelling. But the bass is so punchy and fun on this pair that it in the end it depends on whether you need a lot of noise cancelling for say commuting or you what a better sound with adequate noise cancelling.I do wish Sony included another pair of pads in the box - I don't feel these will last the long period of time I indeed to keep it for. Also, the website to register them is a bit buggy so be sure to check up on the gaurentee duration - didn't work exactly as it should for me.
These headphones sounded great for a year and 3 months. At that point the right speaker stopped working. I called Sonys authorized repair company, United Radio. They said these are not repairable as Sony does not provide parts. I called every local repairer and none would fix them. Sony denied all requests for help and basically acknowledged this is a disposable $250 headphone. Buyer beware. Would have given 0 stars if possible and done with Sony. Here is a follow up. Sony offered a small discount to buy the replacement model. I could actually get it for the same price they offered on sale. Product is still disposable. Still a completely unsatisfactory resolution despite the fact they acknowledge the product never was repairable. This fact should have been noted ... MoreThese headphones sounded great for a year and 3 months. At that point the right speaker stopped working. Been using for a few weeks now, very happy so far.Love the way the audio can be fine tuned via the app (bass, treble etc) first time I’ve had to take a photo of my ear to tailor the sound from headphones! Bass response is excellent and can be adjusted to your own needs.Comfort is good, lots of padding on the headband. The touch features are both excellent however sometimes I’ve skipped/paused by accident when adjusting the headphones on my head. The noise cancellation options are good, perhaps doesn’t cancel as much as I was expecting but still do a great job. I love the one handed touch feature that enables all ambient sound to be heard (whilst lowering the music volume) great for when someone speaks to you and saves you taking the headphones off.Battery life ... MoreBeen using for a few weeks now, very happy so far.Love the way the audio can be fine tuned via the app (bass, treble etc) first time I’ve had to take a photo of my ear to tailor the sound from headphones! I previously used Beats Solo 3 wireless headphones and am very impressed with the sound these produce. The sound is rich and full and the enhanced bass is very good. The ability to adjust the sound through the app is useful. Unlike the Beats, these do not lek anywhere near as much sound, something that used to upset my Partner. Connection to my iPhone is also flawless. After the initial setup through the app which is very easy and straightforward, the headphones connect seamlessly every time you turn them on. Battery life is excellent, and the reported 30 hours appears true. 10 minutes charge also gives you 60 minutes playback, useful when you are pressed for time. The noise cancelling works well, which is something the Beats did not have. I particularly like the ability to cup the right earpiece and instantly lower the sound, so you can hear when spoken to without removing the headphones. My only gripe so far is the touch sensitive controls for volume and track change. They take a bit of getting used to, and would certainly benefit from haptic feedback rather than beeping. Once you get the hang of it however, it is relatively straightforward. The design is much better than the Beats in that the larger earpieces fit better over the ears and are more comfortable. Unfortunately they only come with a soft carry case.Considering these are a similar price to the Beats, they are significantly better in terms of sound and build quality and also features. I would not hesitate to recommend these over Beats headphones in every aspect.I have Amazon music and the ability to use the programmable button for Alexa means I can control my music without needing to push a button. The response times are quick. It also works with Google Assistant. These headphones have replaced my Beats Solo 3 for good and are a welcome addition to my audio collection.
