A few years ago I decided it was time to retire my Sorel’s I had since I was 10-12 or 25ish years. Bought these. Use only to walk from house or work to the car and back. Occasionally for walks. Nothing as crazy as when I was young and played in the snow for hours on end. After 1 season, maybe less, the sole started to wear through on the inside so it is just the empty squares (I bought some liners in so I couldn’t feel pattern of the soles and make it it so I could continue using). Beginning of this winter season (start of 4th winter of wearing these) found a crack in the top of the foot area so if the liner gets wet when snow touches the boot. Bought flex seal so I can continue wearing them the rest of this winter. The quality of Sorel seems to have gone down hill. ... MoreA few years ago I decided it was time to retire my Sorel’s I had since I was 10-12 or 25ish years. Bought these. Will be researching other brands. And I used to recommend Sorel’s to anyone looking for a good quality winter boot

Ultimately I ended up returning these. The boot is bulky, heavy and stiff. It is difficult to get the tongue to sit flush . I never got the tongue on the right shoe to not bunch up and put pressure on the shin. This looks like quality leather and build; however the boot is really stiff and heavy. I like the looks of the boot and I am sure they are warm, but I could not wear these for an extended time. I wore them around the house a couple of times to give them a fair shot and really wanted to keep them, but they are just a really uncomfortable shoe and I ended up returning them. I was surprised given all the rave reviews and recommendations of this boot that can be found on the internet. I also ordered a size 7 as I could not find my normal size of 6.5 and the fit ... MoreUltimately I ended up returning these. The boot is bulky, heavy and stiff. Should have felt large, but even with thin socks felt narrow. Lengthwise despite being a larger size felt like it was the right size, so my guess is these run really small. I love Sorel, but this is my second failure trying to find a good winter boot from Sorel. The last boot I sized up 1.5 sizes to get it to fit my foot, but by doing so, there was a huge gap in the ankle.

The Caribou boots for women more than delivers on its promises. It was stable in the snow where there was melting ice and slush. They were no match for these boots. The Caribou boots kept my feet warm even as I trudged through 6"-14" of snow. Some snow did come in where my feet sunk into over 9" of snow but my feet stayed warm. Next time, I just need to tighten the lace around the top of the shoes and wear thicker socks to plug any opening and keep snow from getting inside the boots. Otherwise they were always warm and comfortable. And they look great too!

This is my second pair of these boots and they are great! I bought a pair a few years ago and eventually ended up using them for shoveling and doing things outside, so they were looking kind of beat up. Decided to buy a second pair to have a "nice" pair to keep for going places when I may need snow boots. They are a bit heavy and clunky, so be warned, but I do think think that they are still worth it for the good thick sole with superior grip to other snow boots I have owned in the past. They also seem well made and like they will hold up well for years to come.
I'm super happy with these boots! I purchased them to replace an older pair of Sorels that are still in great condition but I did not have much traction and would slip-slide all over on winter hikes. I usually wear a 9 but purchased the 8 1/2 as some of the reviews said they run a 1/2 size roomier. I was nervous about that, but these fit great. They are so warm and cushioned. I have worn them on a few hikes in the woods in snow and the traction is so much better than my older ones...not perfect on ice of course but I'm not sure anything is! Really great--I'm so glad I have them and no doubt, they'll last a long time.
Safety concern - BEWARE! I purchased these boots for the snow - and while they do feel comfortable and keep you warm - there is absolutely no traction on floor when going indoors. We went to a restaurant while in the snow, and naturally the floors are wet from tracking in snow. There is absolutely no traction on floor - I slipped, flew in air, and fell on my back/head. I'm thankful I wasn't carrying my baby at the time. Extremely unsafe and do not advise purchasing. You can't expect people to take off their snowboats when going in a restaurant or store.
I got these shoes for a winter ecology course I was taking out in Jackson, WY and they were perfect! Everyday I was out in the elements, always deep in snow, and these keep my feet nice and warm (granted I was always moving around, so that is something to consider). The boots themselves are a bit heavy so I would say that's the only draw back for me.I was able to put my snow pants over the top of the boots nicely, and the removable liner was really convenient for airing out the boots after a long day in the field. Some of these reviews say that their feet were cold while wearing the boots, but I say if you're wearing these boots while hiking, snowshoeing, etc., your toes will be fine!I would wear these with double layer socks too! I cannot recommend these boots enough! I've had these boots for over a year now and while they still look great. They keep my feet dry and warm and are comfortable to walk in. Plus they don't go up to high on my leg like other boots (I'm short so true tall boots often are too close to my knee). The grips on the bottom are great as well. They're great for trekking through the snow, shoveling snow, or just being outside in below zero temps. These boots have served me well for the past 2 midwest winters and I'm sure they'll serve me for many more
I bought the Caribou in gray about 9 years ago and only have worn them maybe 10 times. I live in Minnesota, so I thought these would be great to wear during the winter. The reason I don’t use them as often as I would love to, is because they are too dang difficult to get on and off my feet. The felt liner is snug, yes I understand that, but the problem is the actual boot itself. The opening is too small and the material is too stiff. It almost feels as if I might break my ankles trying to get the boots onto my feet. Once I do, they are heavy and clunky, which is great for slushy ice walks. But if you plan to be driving or doing a lot of walking, maybe try something else. I really wished these would have worked out in my favor, but I’ll be searching for something ... MoreI bought the Caribou in gray about 9 years ago and only have worn them maybe 10 times. Gorgeous wonderful boots, I ordered the black both times and so wanted to keep them. I wanted to update my Sorel Manitou boots from over 30 years ago as they were getting a bit snug, still in good shape though. The footbed in the Caribou's wasn't wide enough in the 10's or the 11's. I have narrow skinny feet and ankles, however I have a bunion on my right foot. With thick mens socks on, the width of my right forefoot is 9 1/2 around and 8 1/2 around on the left foot. Even with a thin sock my right foot hurt. I checked the liners and compared to my old women's size 8's to these new liners, the Caribou's were a bit thinner, narrower in width and only scarcely longer. The only issue was the width in the footbed for me, I usually wear 9.5 regular width tennis shoes, but ... MoreGorgeous wonderful boots, I ordered the black both times and so wanted to keep them. Lucky you if you can wear these, they are awesome!
