I've previously used another make of hardpoint saw and thought I'd try the S&J which I must admit lasts longer and cuts better than others. I will be sticking to S&J and the first fix predator is cerfainly the best hardpoint hand saw I have ever used and is extremely sharp so watch those fingers! It is very easy to nick yourself on this mega sharp blade so take care. Cuts dry wood and tree branches well as long as they are dead and dry. Not really suited to live timber.

I bought these because of the price and you get what you pay for. The finer saw would not be good enough for other jobs I have done so if, for instance, I needed to cut more MDF shelves, I would purchase a better saw to get a smoother cut. I haven't used the rougher cut saw, but more finesse would probably not be required anyway.

Excellent saw and ideal for first fix. Bought an alternative first fix saw and had to send it back as it kept binding and was rubbish. Will stick with this one, although very sharp so watch your fingers.
Bought to replace 40 year old saw as I was struggling to cut through some old tough oak. This new saw cut through easilly, clean and straight. Good value too

Good value for money when buying two for £10. Actually, I bought the blue (with TPI 7) and the red (with TPI 8). Ideal for cutting fencing and outdoor timber. I used it for fitting gate, posts and fence. It is easy to use and cuts very fast and smoother than I expected. I also used it to cut logs and sawing down small trees and lopping branches and completed the job effortlessly.
I bought this originally to break up an old sofa. Did the job well to break the wooden structure down. Now using it to cut down some of the larger tree branches we have cut down in the garden. Still sharp and works well.
