A real upgrade from the helmets of 6-10 years ago with the MIPS and internal insulation.My only complaint is that the brim/bill came out and was lost the first day. It's a piece that slides in between the helmet shell and padding and is only secured by friction. It came out anytime I lowered my goggles and after catching it 4 times, I finally lost it, which was kinda disappointing.

What got me on it was the look, affordability from a recognized company, along with the listed features included. The swappable brim I swapped out and on my very first fall it popped out and snapped like a twig. Second, the goggle retention strap does not stay at all. It clips with what's essentially a cheap jacket button and pops out at every opportunity. What this means is if you're not actively wearing your goggles they're going to fall off. Lastly, be careful if you're going to remove the lining as it's held by Velcro stickers and not all of them may glued well to the interior.

I bought the Galactic MIPS helmet under the impression that it had an adjustable venting system (which was clearly advertised. Wanna see pictures?), but to my dismay it did not. I was rather upset about this and filed a complaint with SPY, but there was no response about the matter. I even followed up a week or so later and still nothing. Helmet is still pretty good, hence bad rating. Seriously feel like I've been wronged as a customer, especially since this was part of an order of $323.

No update shipping, helmet just arrived which is fine. A month after the helmet arrived I was sent a shipping confirmation number/tracking number. Pretty useless but oh well I have the helmet. Two days after that email, I’ve been charged for two additional helmets. So now I have paid for three helmets and only wanted/have one helmet. Based on other reviews and my expoerence communication with this company is horrible so that is why there is a one star review.
Super comfy lining, ear pads have nice space so you don't get squished. Chin strap soft with simple buckle release. Visor is removable if you don't need it which is handy as well. Easy twist to adjust and you're set to go for all day comfort!
Helmet is very light weight and comfortable. I like to wear a beanie and my goggles under my helmet, being able to remove the liner and ear pads made that easy. The only complaint I have is the interchangeable visor is not very secure and comes out pretty easily. I solved that with a little bit of superglue, so no big deal. I wear the helmet everyday for work and it’s been great so far.
The helmet is comfortable, it fits well, and it protects my head very well while I ski. HOWEVER, I am still bummed that ALL of the black helmets were out of stock! I needed a helmet ASAP for a trip and the only Spy helmet available online that was in my size and wasn’t EXTREMELY colorful was the white one. And I don’t like to wear white! I felt obligated to buy a Spy Helmet because I get a discount through work and a helmet is just a helmet but still… kind of a bummer!
This is a really nicely shaped, quality helmet. It even came with stickers that kids can customize their helmet with which was a bonus. The only thing is that the size range on this helmet seems to be smaller than some competitor brands. For example this fits between 51-53cm while other manufacturers seem to have a broader range like 52-55.5. For that reason, we went with an alternative.
The fit is great and the inside liner is super comfy. The earpads alow enough room for your ear buds. With the MIPS system I have peace of mind knowing that I will be protected from rotational forces as much as possible. Thanks for a great product.
Seemed like an aesthetically pleasing helmet and seemed well-mad. However, did not fit — despite having several hats and helmets measuring the same size as this helmet, that all fit me well and have for years. Worst thing was having to pay for returns—Spy does not have the same welcome model for returns that many companies do these days.
