I bought this for my 9yr old daughter and despite her tiny size she finds this very comfortable and relatively easy to learn with. She chose the jazzmaster due to its shape and despite seeing some negative reviews I thought we'd chance it. We have not been disapointed. It is a very nice guitar for a budget item. It has been set up very well by PMT and the intonation seems spot on. It holds its tune well and the hardware is pretty good. It sounds very nice through our ancient Peavy Blazer 158.The small size of the strap pegs (strap slips off very easily) and the very cheap feel of the pickup selector knock a star off.

I bought this mini Jassmaster for my 4 year old daughter, who is just starting music class. She loves it! It's bigger and nicer than a child's toy, but not too heavy for a small child. I find it fun to mess around on. The pickups are clearly cost effective, but the neck feels fine and the hardware is fine. A few things needed to be tightened down and it needed a quick setup, but again, for the money and it's intended purpose, it's awesome!

I look at this guitar like an old Honda Civic. You have a great foundation but it needs some tweaking. A lot of the comments talk about the neck and tuner. I had both of those worked on/upgraded before I got it. Brought the price up to north of 600 but very much worth it. Happy with my purchase!

I bought this guitar as a beginner's guitar for my kids aged 3 and 5 (probably a bit too early for the youngest, however I couldn't get myself to buy a guitar from the toy store). I had read some mixed reviews about the guitar before my purchase, in particular regarding its ability to stay in tune. After having played it myself for a couple of nights however, I don't really see this as an issue. The lower string tension does mean that you will have to be careful not to play too hard on open chords. You also have to be careful how hard you push your fingers down unto the fretboard. However, these are issues you will find on any 3/4 model. Tuning the guitar a half note higher or using thicker strings can make this less of a problem. However, all in all I am very happy ... I'd have to say. I'm very impressed by the Indonesian made instruments. Yeah you have to to little tweaks here and there lightly with a file, sandpaper, or dremel. But for the money I think it some great bang for TV he buck. I've got 2 of them in the house. They are great for all types of music. I play heavy music with on of these.
Bought this as a birthday gift for 14 year old who wants to learn to play. She is small so the 3/4 size was the attraction here. I own a Squire Classic Vibe Tele so I felt the quality would be reasonable for an entry level guitar. Right out of the box, the guitar was nowhere in tune and the strings did not stay at pitch. Other aspects were pretty good. The neck was straight, fret sprout was minimal and all electronics worked correctly.Had a guitar builder friend give it the once over. He was not able to intonate the short scale perfectly but he got it to 8 out of 10. We changed the strings to 10's which helped it to stay in pitch. Doing that he recut the nut and lubricated it. Also put a little more bow in the neck to alleviate minor buzzing. Finally, he adjusted ... MoreBought this as a birthday gift for 14 year old who wants to learn to play. But keep in mind, that this work probably would have cost me $50 with a repairman.
I spent the extra money to get a Squire for my kid, thinking it would be better quality than some of the other brands. I’m not sure it’s worth the extra. It still doesn’t have good tuning stability and the neck fixing to the body is loose. I’ve tried to improve the intonation, but it’s basically like trying to polish a turd.Looks cool though.
After 10 or 15 years without playing I wanted to get my old skills back and felt a 3/4 size guitar would help me. I looked at many but this Jazzmaster inspired Squire Mini kept coming back to the top of the list. I was pleasantly surprised by the tone and neck profile. But I was disappointed that the frets were not as finished on the ends as I would like. I took care to file a little off the end of each fret to smooth them out. I also have a Gibson Les Paul Classic and a PRS Singlecut, both high quality American made guitars. This little import is actually a pleasure to play and compares well with my other two. The best part is the Fender sound is clear and present and unmistakable. Go ahead and get this little gem, you will not regret it. 4 out of 5 stars since I ... i already had a mini strat for my son from 2015, that one stays in tune and has a good tone. even as an adult i enjoy playing that one.this one, not that he might notice but i sure will if he wants to play with me. as "dad" with the good ears im already on tuning duty, so this is a lot of work (or cringing). the tuners look nicer than 2015s but are not as good obviously.i also think where the nut is set relative to the 1st-3rd frets are just not intonated. barre chords are intonated but open chords, yuck. adjusted intonation overall but no help for open chords.to top it off, probably the biggest disappointment is that frets are not evenly pressed. some of them hang so high up the high e gets caught. had to hammer them in so string wouldnt get caught but it still ... I had the same experience as the other reviewer where the fret sprout at the edges is extremely sharp/noticeable. The finish also had a lot of imperfections, but it comes with the price. The sound is great and I was able to set it up with super low action and no fret buzz. I gave mine away to my little cousin, nevertheless, I'd get one again and research the tools needed to smooth out the edges of the neck.
