I went through a fitting a few weeks ago. Trying all the best player irons. ZX7 by far were the best of the bunch. I have player a couple of rounds and I'm just truly impressed. The turf interaction is just far superior to any set of irons I have ever owned. The KBS tour lites are impressive as well. Using this shaft you get a great feel for the club head. These irons are the best bang for the buck.

These clubs feel consistent from PW to 5. I was expecting to lose some distance over my previous very forgiving clubs, but it turned out to be very similar.I have yet to pull or push with these clubs like the way forgiving clubs do. There's something about the balance of the Sirxon ZX7 to draw or fade deeper but it still ends up at my intended target. The extreme misses penalize in distance but the result isn't so punishing.And wow do the club's look amazing. I'm totally in love with these clubs. They are quite forgiving for blades.

You tell me how custom department is: I ordered standard length, got 1/2 inch over. I ordered 2 flat, got standard lie. I call to inform customer service and they say take off 1/2 inch from butt. I ordered standard length, that's assemblers job.Things are so bad I'm not confident the shafts are tipped correctly with all the other errors. I asked if srixon could send me grips for after butt trimming they said no can do, hence this 1st review I've ever composed. I fit people for clubs all day long, will I recommend srixon?

Worked on testing irons for about a year. Tested 790’s way to hot, 770 less hot but much like the 790, 7MC a nice club but the feel was a little hard and found dispersion to be more than the Srixons. JPX921’s were like butter but like the 7MC’s the dispersion was inconsistent. Finally narrowed it down with two days of track man testing with the zx5 and zx7 and the zx5 was as soft as the JPX 921 but less dispersion but was extremely hot (5 iron rolled out 206). While the zx7 wasn’t as soft as the zx5 it was tight on dispersion and about 13 yards hotter that my older taylormade MC’s but night and day with forgiveness. Love love love my new ZX7 Mk II irons. I custom ordered a blended set of ZX7 (7-PW) and 5-6i in the ZX5 with the Steel Fiber 95i shafts. Amazing irons and can't recommend the steel fiber shaft upgrade enough- unbelievably great feeling shafts. These new irons are 5 yards longer and my miss hits are much more forgiving and feel amazing when flushed. I'm coming out of Taylormade 790's with DG 105 shafts and a much tighter dispersion with the new Strixon irons. I would also recommend the Steel Fiber i95 shafts - amazing shafts and worth the upgrade and a big reason I love these irons so much. It also performs extremely well in some short to medium length rough, and performs comparable to everything else out of deep rough. Looking forward to adding some more srixon to my bag in the future. My only complaint with the ZX7 is it lacks the forgiveness that other your cavity back irons have. Thin or toed shots don't go very far at all. Center face (or close to) go for miles though, and for me, that, along with the control it provides, makes it a winner for me!
Overall it delivers what you expect from a quality players iron. My old set was mizuno JPX tour 19. Compare to them ZX7 has thicker topline , slightly thicker sole, and less blade like appearance. Weight distribution is pretty noticeable and center strikes feel pretty solid but not forgiving on toe shots. After playing a round with them I can conclude they are pretty good from the rough. Shots high on the face or from tall grass rough had fairly good ball speed and backspin. Thats is a big plus for me. One thing about specs, I am not sure how Srixon measures clubs but they run .25 longer in std length than most traditional brands. Keep that in mind when you custom order.
