I'm still on my first pen, even though I've been using it almost daily. It writes smoothly. I guess its closest equivalent would be a Bic ballpoint pen, but I prefer this one, now.I ordered the black inked pens, too.

Disapointments*Low output water based ink and quality of writing are pale and ink skips a lot. Maybe next time try some oil based ink, doesnt skip ink, airtight body, 0.5mm ballpoint, and fast drying(doesnt smudge) design.*Unsealed Pen. Not really a problem but for some people like me that works on damp, confined, and heavy conditions. It should be airtight but with some fine CAD magic this could be fixed and redesigned.*I have to apply variable pressure just to write properly which is frustrating but it still pale quality.I hope staedtler redesign this pen and that would be great. I really love staedtler products but not this. I would pay extra for higher quality version.
This particular box I bought none of the pens work properly. tested four out of the box and ink is either stuck in the ball point or the ink is semi dry. I don't how to explain it. But I'm not happy with this purchase

Like the way they easily glide over the paper - leaving good fine black script. Write straight away - no need to shake the pen to get ink flowing.
Upon their first use, pens frequently run out of ink. You have to rotate the pen while you're using it just to get even ink distribution---awful to write with, very inconvenient. There's next to no flow in the ink, brand new pens write like they're almost empty. Every single pen in the packet was like this, and sometimes even turning the pen around and changing angles wouldn't help.
Good, solid pens that don't feel cheap or light in the hand. Steady, reliable ink flow and never need to 'scribble' to get them working. The blue ones have the nicest ink to write with as it's slightly tacky, giving a bit of stabilizing resistance while writing.
