This is an excellent combination square, does what is required. Slight sticking on the iron as it travels across the ruler, can be rectified with minor fettling.
Way superior compared to the light weight flimsy squares on the market. Worth paying the extra to get a proper tradesmens combination square.
Good quality but I was hoping the markings would be engraved. Time will tell if they fade
Ive owned two Rabone combination squares previously and still have one in daily use. This newer style is a step backwards as the rule is too loose in the head and has slop in it. It would be ok for rougher work but cannot do the job of the older style squares.
Has a good, solid feel.On testing, mine proved to be accurate both on the square and mitre. The finish of the casting is not high-end but then neither is the price. Good balue for money.
STANLEY and RABONE tools just can't be beat for their material build quality, accuracy and functionality. If you want a tool that will last you a lifetime then there is no finer and will be sort after long after they have gone out of production and you are no longer around to use them.
Great product with plenty of weight in the hand and really reliably robust. Dont bother with cheaper items that will let you down.
Good quality cast iron stock. The blade has a matt chrome finish. The only improvement that I could recommend would be that the ends of the blade could be ground, rather than being left "cropped". Still a good tool that should last many years.
