After using my fatmax in the rain a few times the tape started rusting, then a week later the tape ripped. For the price? Not worth it.

Brought this a week or so ago and seems to do a good job, does bend at around the 4m mark however. Numbers nice a clear to read, over all item is quite large in size.
Awesome tape, great standout, and eaay to read. Having the big head helps at times but does get caught on things from time to time
I've had $20 tapes better than this. If you don"t hold it perfectly level it flops instantly. Tabs too slippery to catch onto anything. Feels cheap . If I hadn't thrown it onto the concrete a couple of times I would have returned it

I made the mistake of testing out the 4m stand out feature. I picked it up slowly, and the tape bent at 4.0m. I tried it again at 3.9m, and it still bent. I am DIY level as far as my skills go, and little did I know that I was making funny kinks in my brand new tape measure, which are weakening it from holding firm.This is still the best tape measure I've ever owned by far, and its 8m length (compared to my old 3m one) is great. The yellow and chrome finish are both made in the USA, so if I had to buy it again, I would go for the yellow 8m Stanley (which I'm sure would chip away to yellow), and feels just as tough.I have waited nearly 10 years to buy a tape measure like this, so the extra five dollars isn't much. Just don't bend it. The instructions don't mention it, they only brag about how strong the tape measure is.
