I've never had so much trouble assembling anything before. While the instructions could have been better with more exploded diagrams, I was able to follow along with their descriptions well enough. The problem was, about 75% of the screws felt like I was tapping the threads as I was trying to tighten the screws. Either the cast aluminum was very rough (it was) and was jamming the threads--I had to back the screws out several times to blow out the aluminum dust--or the black paint was so badly applied into the threads that I couldn't even start the screws. What should have taken less than an hour to assemble took several. It's a shame, because otherwise, it looks like a nice, sturdy unit.
