Bought this so I can use my La Cie rugged with my 14 Mac without having to carry a dongle.It's more robust than I expected. Very thick heavy duty cable.Works great with my drives that need this type of connector.Price is decent as well.

I purchased this cable to connect my external disks to my newer MacBook Pro. Moving from USB to USB-c connections. This cable works with all the disks I have tried. I would like to see a shorter version of this cable, as I do not need 3 feet of cable, 1 ft. would be just fine.
It works in general. Tried to use the one with AC powered devices without problems, but found it's not so good with USB 3.0 powered hub. Not sure what's wrong with it. Found the mismatch of design with public shared image. It's not the same. So it's not excellent, but good enough.
The plug is a little bulky and as such sometimes doesn't fit well and can come loose (for example trying to plug it into a phone with a case on. Other then this issue, it works fine and is plenty fast. I like the short length which was the main reason why I bought it.
This adapter does exactly what it's designed to do and that's more impressive than it sounds. I've bought many cables and adapters for USB 3.1 Gen 1 that don't. I'm sticking with StarTech going forward.
This didn't actually work for my needs, but it appears to be a problem with the OTG gadget I need to plug in to my phone and not with the adapter, because it seems to work otherwise. You can definitely find these adapters cheaper, but I suspect the quality is a little better on a StarTech.
Worked as intended for 5 months, but the USB-C part just broke when trying to plug it in as I had done several times before and now it no longer works.
I ordered two of the same cable, and they appear to have slightly different USB-C ends, one of which (larger more rectangular plug housing) doesn't work well at all. The Micro-USB side on both is fine, BUT - one the more rectangular version, the USB-C side won't plug in to the USB-C ports all the way, and as a result easily comes out if the cable has any pressure on it (say, gently moving the cable as you're trying to route it). Tried it on multiple ports, multiple devices, same result. Unless you can check it in person, would absolutely not recommend.
