I got this to replace a plastic box that I was using to get my monitor to the correct viewing height. While I thought it was rather big when I got it out of the box, I quickly learned that its size is just right for most monitors, as it extends to the edges of the bezel and makes a very aesthetically pleasing addition to my desk. This has made thigs so much easier, since I no longer have to worry about my laptop getting in my way or having something slide over the keyboard or touchpad and stop the video or close my window. The pull out drawer is nice, because sometimes when I'm working, I can put my tools in the drawer and not lose them under my projects - all while viewing my video classes. I use a 32" monitor and it's nice to be able to use the adjustment feature along with the display arm on the monitor to dial into a good viewing height while freeing up some desk space, My only real issue with this riser is the construction - it's a bit (ok, more than a bit) plasticky, and even though I don't have it at full height there's a bit of wiggle. I'd definitely suggest it first to anyone looking to purchase one. I'm thinking about getting a second one for my additional monitor.

This product looks so good and the purpose it serves is much needed but sadly for me the unit was just too fragile. I have an old computer desk I use with my desktop computer. There is a raised shelf sitting on top of the actual desk on which my monitor sits. It is all made of wood. I was very excited to be able to remove that shelf and use this unit. It does allow you to set it at various height levels which keeps your monitor and other miscellaneous materials above, there is a very useful drawer and this unit provides space underneath. This riser performs the promised function, and no more; it certainly isn't pretty or technologically advanced. As such, assembly of the unit is self-explanatory and quick, requiring you simply to choose the amount of rise needed, and slide the appropriately sized riser into place. Once assembled, the unit is quite sturdy, with rubberized "feet" preventing the unit from sliding. I found the drawer to be of little use, as it is not deep enough to hold much. (I would like the unit more without the drawer.) I am using this riser to give a boost to my television, since my soundbar was blocking the television's remote control sensor. As long as you don't mind the riser's looks, it will function for you. I recommend this item!

With flat screen TVs, the TV doesn't take a whole lot of space, but we've got so many gadgets hooked up to the TV,that organizing them all is a mess of wires with limited space to actually put things like game systems, routers, etc. We use this stand on a shelf above the TV for our router. It allows us to see the router lights so that we know if we're getting a bad signal for some reason. The black makes it conveniently blend in with the surrounding media pieces so that it looks like it belongs. The drawer function would be handy if we didn't keep this so high. We don't want to go into it often and disturb everything around it, so it's become a good place to put manuals and paperwork for our media that we don't want to get rid of but will probably never actually ...
