A platform into which you can install a portable computer. The docking station typically contains slots for expansion cards, bays for storage devices, and I/O connectors for peripheral devices, such as printers and monitors. Once inserted in a docking station, the portable computer essentially becomes a desktop model computer. Most importantly, the same data is accessible in both modes because it resides on the portable computer’s drives. The idea behind docking stations is to let you simultaneously enjoy the expansion possibilities of desktop model computers with the portability of notebook computers. In addition, the docking station enables you to use a full-size keyboard and monitor when you’re not traveling.

I have been in the AV/IT Integration space for over 30 years.I found this unit easy to setup and use on my Dell, HP and Toshiba Laptops. The unit installs quickly and is compatible with a variety of operating systems, which I tested. There was no tearing of the video or audio sync issues during my testing. It was easy to set up two DisplayPort monitors, and on one HDMI monitor . Utilizing a single USB Type-C cable, the dock also provides access to a wired network and five USB ports. Overall, I found the unit to be reliable, easy to use and of high quality. What is Included:1- Docking Station1- USB-C Cable1- Universal Power Adapter1- Instruction ManualNote: “I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.”

Got this for work. For many months, was using my two identical ASAUVG275 monitors with it using identical DisplayPort cables. Never managed to get more than 60Hz. By chance, connected an HDMI cable to one of the monitors, and discovered that through HDMI the docking station does support 75Hz. Running latest Intel drivers on my laptop, latest Window and latest Display link drivers so.... poor compatibility through DisplayPort. Not good.

If you are someone who needs a lot of monitors, this is an excellent docking station. All this new technology makes setting these up very quick, and in my case, completely automatic. I planned all my cables and monitor placement in advance, and after plugged in everything and turning it on, my laptop screen blinked once and all the monitors came to life. A few minutes of (Windows) setup and I was up-and-running. Video quality is superb; I can’t believe this is all accomplished by a single cable! The dock itself is thin enough to sit on the base of my left-most monitor and looks amazing. The included Thunderbolt3 cable is only 50cm long, so take that into account during setup, or have a longer cable handy.I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review

This dock has been fantastic for me. It's lightweight and easily portable. I have two monitors hooked up to it, one is a 4k screen and the other a 1080p and both work great. This dock actually works better than my unstable Dell TB16 dock.Make sure when you first plug it in to let it sit plugged into your computer for 5 minutes or so because Windows has to go out and look for drivers to install for the different ports. I thought I had a defective unit at first because I couldn't get the Ethernet port to work right away but then after waiting for a little bit it started working and I realized Windows had to install the drivers first. I've tested all the ports and they all work now.One more thing to keep in mind is that the USB-C power delivery is only 60W. ... MoreThis dock has been fantastic for me. Therefore in my case I still needed to have the power adapter plugged into my laptop for the battery to charge as my laptop uses a 120W power adapter. I have a pretty beefy laptop so I won't knock the rating down for that as I'm sure it'll be fine for many laptops out there and in worst case scenario, you just plug in your power adapter too.I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.
I purchased this dock to expand my monitors for my laptop - no dice - only one DP port works. When I asked customer support they said it was because my laptop didn't have Alt-USBC mode, although the instructions clearly state "An available USB-C port" is all you need... I was told that this is 'very confusing' by the customer support rep. Also, even though I have the latest drivers installed (10.0.82.0), the display port monitor lags, even at 60hz setting. Perhaps this is my fault too? As this is an expensive investment, make sure you ask many questions about compatibility before you buy. I was very dissapointed.
I waited for a while to write anything. I bought this in August of 21 and its now Feb 22 I have 2 4k Monitors both achieving 4k without any blink issues etc or anything turning off. USB into the back of my ASUS Rog Strix with a Ryzen 9 and a 3080 I would say that as far as having 2 4k monitors plus the laptop open and on all the time while working, this product has gone above and beyond. It runs everything i need to between video... games... programs...editing softwares etc. AS well as remote things. I am not experiencing some other things i have seen noted such as 'no 4k' or 'overheating' I feel like those may be more a computer or physical surroundings issue or lack of driver.
The product itself works for 2 monitors with 2019 Mac Book Pro, no issues there. What I do not like is the fact that the product description is a bit mis-leading or maybe the description is not fully descriptive. You would think that if you have to plug in the hub that the hub would provide power to the laptop or at the least provide power to the usb ports. It does not provide power to anything. These two things are leading me to return the unit and look for another solution. Paying almost 200 dollars for a bunch of useless USB ports and a power pack that runs the little blue led on the front of the unit????
I have owned mine for a couple years. I have a Macbook Pro, always upgraded to the most current Mac OS. I use three DisplayLink monitors, plus a third HDMI. And every port is pegged: speakers, microphone, thumb drive, webcam, everything works great.
I just installed this with my MacBook Pro 13 2020 Intel and it worked after getting the following things fixed in my scenario:1.) Install the Displaylink Manager for MacOs (search on Google)2.) Use the provided cable to connect MacBook to docking station. I had a brand new quality USB-C cable (longer cable) and the screen attached to the displayport was not discovered.Hope that helps to overcome startup troubles!
i'm running Macbook pro - 15". usb-c power works great. i have 3 27" 1440 monitors running just fine. also have speakers. audio works great. sometimes there is that "pop" sound when removing cable or when laptop goes to sleep. the USB for data works great (have an external plugged in for time machine). only issue i've seen was running an wireless charger for my iphone threw a power overusage warning. which wasn't a big deal, i just plugged that in elsewhere. if you want a sleek setup with one cable plug in, its pretty great.
