Plugged this adapter into the USB-C port on my Dell laptop running Windows 10, hooked up the HDMI to the monitor via an HDMI - DVI-D adapter, and the screen lit up right away, no drama. Now i'm able to use 3 monitors at the same time (including the built in screen, and the existing HDMI output on the laptop)Have been using it now for 3 weeks, every single day. Not a hitch.

Check your cpu type. This is Thunderbolt and that only works with Intel cpu's. It will not work with AMD. I did try it on my Galaxy Tab S7 and with an hdmi monitor it goes into DEX mode and becomes a desktop, so kind of cool and I will keep it, but total fail on what I got it for.

I have used this product to allow my phone's Waze to be displayed on my car's screen, with one additional adapter to get me to a composite output, This was then plugged into a spare input from a self installed reversing camera. I could not find a direct adapter, so had to use these two.I telephoned for help in specifying and got excellent service.It works a treat!

I have tested this USB-C to HDMI dongle on several Lenovo laptops and my Galaxy S8 phone, with different 4k TV's, monitors and projectors without any issues.The dongle comes in a large zip logs bag without any padding or instructions. It must be a very durable product to bounce around a zip lock bag without any issues. The dongle is about the length of a pen and the larger HDMI end makes up about half the length. The HDMI end is made of shiny black plastic which was scratched all over within minutes of handling it. Honestly, this product worked absolutely perfectly. Have the USB-C side plugged into my MacBook Pro, with the HDMI end plugged into my monitor. Worked like a charm. Zero issues, no flickering or other weird disconnects that you get with other cables. Only thing I’d say is the price is “a little high” for what you’re getting. That said, if it just works as it should, I’d rather not fuss with lower priced, lower quality models. Would highly recommend.

What a great way to add more screen real estate! It's recognized by both on-board GPU and the dedicated card (the laptop has both - Dell Inspiron-5770). Lovely! Make sure your HDMI cables are long enough. I had two 4-ft ones, and for the third monitor it wasn't enough (the laptop sits to my left, so the USB-C port was too far from the right-hand monitor), so I swapped it with a 6-ft one, no sweat...

Hiya,I just bought this adaptor to extend my laptop to another screen whilst working from home.When i plug the USB-C input into my HP laptop, an error message pops up telling me that the device has 'malfunctioned.' I've tried to see if anything happens if I connect it with the TV and comp, but no luck. Could I get some advice on how to solve this problem please?ThanksBen

I've used this specific adapter with a new Macbook Pro. I have connected to 3 different HP Envy32 B&O displays, and two flat screen TVs. Display quality is on par for all tested displays, but audio is choppy when only connecting to the display sound. TV audio works fine. After testing another USBC to HDMI converter with the same display audio works fine.

This is not an "external graphics card" like the USB 3.0 adapter that startech sells. This is truly an "adapter" which is why you don't need any drivers for windows, also why it's so inexpensive compared to the other one. I had resolution issues with my dell thunderbolt usb-c dock displaying from the hdmi port. I tried to use this but the same issue occurred, that is because it is using the same bus that the dock uses and for some reason there is a resolution limit on the hdmi port when both display ports are being used. The usb 3.0 adapter is the one I should have purchased. This is a pretty nice device if you are just connecting up to TVs in a conference room or monitors at a desk.
