Check your cpu type. This is Thunderbolt and that only works with Intel cpu's. It will not work with AMD. I did try it on my Galaxy Tab S7 and with an hdmi monitor it goes into DEX mode and becomes a desktop, so kind of cool and I will keep it, but total fail on what I got it for.

Does not output 4K HD. If you have a TV or monitor from the past few years, you will not get the best quality out of your iPad Pro, Mac, or HDR-enabled PC with this adapter. I returned it and unfortunately had to get Apple’s adapter at over $65.
I have both Startech USB-C to HDMI and USB-C to DP adapters, only the HMDI adapter doesn't handle hotplugging well, either I see screen tearing on my Dell U2414H only on the HDMI adapter. Hotplugging doesn't always work, i.e. the display is not detected.

I now have three monitors: the built-in one, another plugged into the laptop's HDMI, and the third one plugged into the unused USB-C port using this adapter. What a great way to add more screen real estate! It's recognized by both on-board GPU and the dedicated card (the laptop has both - Dell Inspiron-5770). Lovely! Make sure your HDMI cables are long enough. I had two 4-ft ones, and for the third monitor it wasn't enough (the laptop sits to my left, so the USB-C port was too far from the right-hand monitor), so I swapped it with a 6-ft one, no sweat...

Successfully able to get 4k 60fps output from my Dell XPS 15 (9500 model) using this adapter and a high bandwidth hdmi cable. Awesome and far exceeds the ability of the hdmi adapter Dell supplied which could only manage 30fps.
I have been in the AV/IT Integration space for over 30 years.I found this unit easy to setup and use on my Microsoft and Android devices. The unit installs quickly with no additional drivers or software required, and is compatible with a variety of operating systems, which I tested.
