I have 2 usb-c ports on my computer but needed USB for a camera. The camera shows up working great in my production software.
It works in general. Tried to use the one with AC powered devices without problems, but found it's not so good with USB 3.0 powered hub. Not sure what's wrong with it. Found the mismatch of design with public shared image. It's not the same. So it's not excellent, but good enough.
Perfect fit for my apple laptop. I use the adapter with my usb and mouse...…….
The USB-A end (female) is too tight to fit and the USB-A (male) connector won't fit all the way in so it couldn't make contact with the prongs. I had to go to my company's tech support to get a new one which allows the male connector to fit it, however, it's still not very smooth and it takes a lot of force to insert and extract.
The plug is a little bulky and as such sometimes doesn't fit well and can come loose (for example trying to plug it into a phone with a case on. Other then this issue, it works fine and is plenty fast. I like the short length which was the main reason why I bought it.
This didn't actually work for my needs, but it appears to be a problem with the OTG gadget I need to plug in to my phone and not with the adapter, because it seems to work otherwise. You can definitely find these adapters cheaper, but I suspect the quality is a little better on a StarTech.
Great little compact adapter. My MacBook Pro only includes USB-C ports o this is a very compact adapter for converting to a USB-A. It is plug and play and works great.
