Love the high sides. I was specifically looking for a small skillet and high sides was what drew me in to Williams Sonoma to look at this one. La Mer is a beautiful color and the fact they had it in stock was enough to get it. Have not been disappointed. It cooks and cleans beautifully and I had a Scanpan lid that fit it nicely as well.

Looks good but even with ridiculous amounts of butter and or oil, everything sticks. I read the guide and use accordingly. And yes, I know it is not non stick. I get it. I would say unless you are deep frying this pan is useless. Just make sure you know what you are geting into. Everything sticks and it takes a good 3 times of scrubbing to get it clean.

This skillet is high quality at an affordable price. I have multiple pieces of Staub cookware and they hold up really well. I love that the inside of the skillet is coated, so it is much easier to care for than traditional non-coated cast iron. The size of this skillet is great. I have a larger Staub cast iron skillet with more shallow sides, but I love the deeper sides of this skillet. I almost wish there was an option with a lid, but I have been able to use the lid from other cookware when needed so it isn’t entirely necessary. Highly recommend!

I waited for years for Staub to make me a smaller fry pan. Finally! I'm so glad it has high sides for what I pile in there. I use it pretty much daily. My 10" with more shallow sides is perfect for flipping things, and my 11" high side is perfect for big family meals. It's Staub. It's perfect. I'm so happy Staub/WS is bringing my Cherry color in stock more. It's the best standard color for all kitchenware for us matchy-matchy types.
I’ve waited a while to write this after a few months of use. The quality and finish of this pan is fantastic. However, my wife’s cooking experience with the pan has isn’t what she expected due to cost and hype. After a few sessions where food stuck to the pan (yes she used plenty of oil like what was recommended), she remarked to me that she wasn’t impressed. I’ve noticed that she’s gone back to using her Lodge pan instead. Which is a bummer because it was a Mother’s Day gift. Now it sits on the stove and looks pretty.
I was so excited to get this beautiful little green skillet knowing it was going to be 'deep'. Thing is though, it really is not that deep. Perhaps 1/4" taller than my 10" Finex, but not much more than that. I'm keeping it because I'm totally in love with the color and the price was great. I have several Staub pieces and appreciate their quality.
Perfect for two people...This 8.5 in deep-sided skillet has become my favorite pan! Like all cast iron, it just heats up and retains the heat over the entire surface (unlike my other pans on my gas stovetop). It's pretty heavy for a smaller pan but it feels so premium. The enameled inside coating makes this pretty much non-stick and so easy to clean. I paid a little more for the La Mer color but it was totally worth it. I've been using this little skillet almost every day since I got it. It was even on sale when I purchased so that sweetened the whole idea of buying a new skillet. You too will love it!
I knew something was missing from my life but didn’t realize it was this skillet. I love it like a first born. The Staub gods definitely blessed us mortals with this one. I’ve never achieved such a perfect sear! This skillet is so multifunctional. I can cook anything in it with a good preheat. I’ve gifted this skillet and plan to keep it on my default gifting list!I also own the 10” fry pan which is now rather neglected because I always reach for this one unless I need both. If you’re on the fence about the fry pan or skillet, I highly recommend the skillet. The taller sides help with splatter and hold more volume. The flatter sides allow more bottom surface area. Yum!The skillet seemed heavy, but I quickly got used to the weight! It’s definitely less of a workout to wash than a cocotte.Side note: I do recommend getting a slide-on handle holder or using a kitchen towel because the handle can get burning hot!
The pan is beautiful (I got the basil color), very striking. That last word might be a pun. It is HEAVY. Be careful not to drop it on anyone or anything. It cleans up well. It does require, I found, some seasoning at the beginning. Rub a little vegetable oil into it, and turn on the lowest possible heat on the burner for a few minutes, then wipe clean when it cools. But a beautiful pan, and I would buy another one.
First order was a cracked pan right out of the box. Had to return and replace. Which took time. Quality Control BEFORE shipping the first pan was nil. But the replacement came quickly and thankfully was not cracked or damaged in any detectable way. Thankfully. Very pleased with Customer Service dealing with the issue of the damaged first skillet. The drawback of this pan is that the handle is shorter so its front heavy and may not be for weaker arms and wrists. The helper opposite the handle helps with this though.
