This is a good low profile grill pan with a light weight collapsible handle for easy storage. For me, this is the pan that goes in the camping gear. I wouldn't put it directly on the fire, but on a grate over the fire or a camp stove perfect (just make sure the handle isn't exposed to the flame.) It was of course, designed for the stove top so start working with it there and more ideas will come.I like the low profile of the pan, let's more air in so food caramelizes better (less moisture), but there's a little clean up to do (more splatter). I wish the handle was removable. With that said, the quality of the pan is impeccable. It cooks very well and will last a lifetime.

This folding grill is perfect for storing in my small studio apartment. Love the cast iron enamel which is ready to go with no seasoning required. The groves are nice and long and create nice looking sear marks on foods. Works with my induction cook top, and also oven safe. Love to sear large cuts of meat in the pan, and finish cooking in the oven, for perfect results. Also roast chickens, turkey and cornish game hens on this grill pan and achieve moist juicy interior, and extra crispy skin.

A great compact cast iron grill pan

This is such a great grill pan and I absolutely love it. I don’t have an outdoor grill, but this Staub grill pan brings the outdoor grill inside. Whether it’s getting those amazing lines on a steak, to grilling pineapple to chicken and veggies, or even making paninis, the deep grills of the pan do a fantastic job of heating up and grilling your food thoroughly. This is a great piece in any kitchen and also the fact that you can have a cast iron grill pan that can become so compact thanks to the folding handle is awesome! Also love that since it’s enameled, so I don’t have to season it after I use it.

It's a small thing - a collapsible handle. But when you are limited in space as my daughter is, it makes all the difference. This handy grill is now a part of her small space living so she and her husband can enjoy grilled vegetables and the occasional steak any time they choose.I like gifting Staub. It is high quality cast iron that needs little (no) maintenance. Let's face it, no one wants to be tied to seasoning and re-seasoning cast iron pans. This one is easy to use and easy to clean (hand wash for lifetime enjoyment).

Everten was the only company I could find in Australia who had the genuine product. Main reason for purchase was the Staub met the requirements of compactness and a folding handle to use camping. Although followed the manufacturer's instructions explicitly, was concerned cooked on vegetable oil was only going to build up as it was impossible to remove after only two uses. Contacted Staub (UK) direct with several questions. The reply (although prompt) was sadly only an electronic copy of the already supplied instruction booklet. After several efforts using baking soda and water, gently bringing to the boil until water evaporated, and then using a non-abrasive brush was I able to lift most of the burnt on oil (impossible not to happen, even though grill was only used on low heat). Having brought this lovely little grill almost back to its original self, have now taken it on its first camping trip with reasonably good success. It cooks food beautifully and makes the best toasted sandwich. I have however changed to rice oil. This seems to burn less and easier to clean. Love the way this little gem packs away in a small space. Would still really like to know if the grill pan is supposed to clean back to its original surface or if build up is acceptable without affecting the cooking results. Unique Grill Pan

The folding handle of this grill pan is so unique and such an awesome idea. Storage is always an issue in my house and the fact that the handle can fold to the center, reduces my storage demand significantly. I love that the handle is covered with a heat resistant "plastic", no worries for heat transfer.The grill pan has deep groves and heats up great making it perfect for indoor grilling! It is enameled on the inside too, so foods release easily and clean up is easy.It has a smooth bottom so I'm safe to use it on my glass cooktop too.

Versatile

This folding grill replicated an old non-stick Pam we had used for a decade. The versatility of the folding silicon handle and high heat capability of this pan are a huge upgrade for our kitchen. The pan has an even temperature distribution and plenty of room for a full fish or two steaks.

great grill......easy storage

Storage space is an issue for me so I was drawn to this folding handle grill. The cooking surface is large. The enamel coating on the cast iron makes it easy to clean and maintain without the hassle of seasoning. The iron itself heats very evenly and retains heat so I get great browning and nice grill marks. The deep channels between the ridges keep my food from sitting in the fat and produce a well cooked item. The silicon handle stays cool and is comfortable to hold. When im done it just folds up and stores easily in my cabinet.

Great concept. A little lighter than the other Staub grill pans with the cast iron handle. It still heats up evenly and you still get great grill marks for all your proteins or veggies. The handle folds down which certainly saves space. The silicone handle is very comfortable.
