The sound is as good as I've ever heard on any electrostatic earphone and better than I've ever heard on even some very fine, expensive floor standing loudspeakers. But this unit is a little heavier than some earlier Stax electorstatics I possess, and therefore not quite as comfortable.

Possibly the best ear-speakers on the planet? I find these better than my Stax 009 !!! I can only tolerate listening the 009 for 20-30 minutes at a time . For me, the 009 are more "analytical" than they are "musical" & I just don't have love for the 009. However, the 007's I can listen to all-day & all night long & NEVER get fatigued. Simply these suit my listening frequency contours best without giving me headache.

After many years of headphone use, this is my first pair of electrostatics. Pairing them up with a BHSE has been an ear-opening experience. They are very detailed, yet warm at the same time. The midrange is never harsh, as it can be on some headphones. Highly recommended!
Fantastic build quality and sound
These are very nice. However, Stax Lambdas sound just as good for a much lower price. If you don't care about the price and want luxury, then go ahead. I would not expect anything from other brands to sound as good as these Stax headphones.
I have stax sr-009 headphone, But the 007a much better than 009, the 007A is more music and more natural. use stax SRM-007tll working is excellent!

Most neutral STAX earspeakers you can buy, they are good for fatigue free listening.
