The mic is a good length away from you so it's not annoying and it's detachable and retractable when not needed. There's also volume dial and mute button on the headset for easy reach. I've only been using them for PS4 but they're also compatible for other consoles. They even work for phones if you need a pair. Haven't tested them out to see if the mic works for calls, though. If you're looking for a good pair of affordable headset for gaming, I definitely recommend these!

Great fit, sound, and build quality; only minor connectivity annoyances with older Macs

First, the Bluetooth audio quality from my Mac drops significantly when the microphone is activated; I guess bidirectional audio uses too much bandwidth. I expect this is a problem with how macOS handles Bluetooth audio and not with the headset, but know that the BT connection on a Mac might not be the best. Second, the y-splitter cable for dual 3.5mm mic and headphone jacks works, but seems not to connect with all jacks. It works with a little USB audio in/out dongle that I have, so I know it functions, so I don't know why this problem happens. All in all, these are only minor inconveniences and may not even be an issue with other computers, but they make it just barely short of 5 stars for me.

Great general purpose headset

Bought this for general purpose (work meetings, friend meetings, and gaming). Sound and switches are all great. I thought this was to tight at first, but I broke in the plastic by stretching the ears apart and setting it on my leg, and the plastic top loosened up. The mic is a little sharp with the "s" and "ch" sounds, so I might experiment with foam on top. But the mic audio is clear, and the speakers are well balanced and sharp. It's worth the $40 I paid, but I'm not sure if I'd pay the full $70 for it. If they're reliable, then it could be worth that; but for $40, I think it's a good choice.

Great headset. Very comfortable.
13 November 2022

These sound really good about on par with most heasets. These shine in comfort. I have 4 sets now and these are the most comfortable to me. Also love these bc they allow you to connect another wired headset using the 3.5mm jack. Makes things much simpler and quick for me bc i have a 9 year old that has to have her headphones on as well listening to the same thing as i am. Definitely reccomend these as a main driver or backup especially if its on sale.

Honestly doesn't live up to what's advertised
29 January 2022

When I got this headset I used it right away after checking everything was fine. I streamed that same day and everyone said it was fine till the next day when I woke up, I and everyone on my stream and discord could hear echoes due to the headset mic picking up the audio even at low volumes along with being well fitted on my head. The noise cancelation was honestly over hyped and didn't live up to what was advertised, nor being on the level of aviation headsets regarding the noise cancelation (speaking from experience). This headset overall wasn't even worth buying. The headset is from a name brand and yet my previous headset lasted longer even though it was from name brand. The headset's mic is short and could be a little longer so it can be in front of peoples mouth with some space instead of being right up against it. Even though the headset I bought was for PlayStation, I bought it for PC use but it works for all platforms and didn't have the other wires like the one in the orange and white schemed box that says for all platforms. The PlayStation one was priced just as much as the other one in the orange and white schemed box saying for all platforms when they both serve the same purpose and yet the one I got has less wires; now that's not fair paying for less. The only good thing about the headset is it being comfy and the audio. I honestly don't recommend buying the headset whether it be the one for PlayStation or the other and want my money back because I didn't get my money's worth. If I have to return it then so be it. I would rather buy another headset for the time being till I find an actual good and reliably long lasting headset that doesn't or lose quality over night from light use and well taken cared of that's worth my money.

IGN Rated - "Best High-End Gaming Set."

I just purchased this headset today, since I had a Best Buy giftcard to spend. My great ever budget headphones for my PS4 after years, since I had one from before. The volume control could have been better feel, because it felt cheap. 1-2 knobs barely increases the sound. but i guess it just right sounding, even with it on during a movie. you can hear the effects clarity even on low to mid volume. I would buy for this price, or a bit more if they increased the quality a bit more.

Bought the Arctic 3 Console Edition to replace a Hyperx Cloud Alpha that went bad. Honestly for a $70 headset it's the better value all around. It's lighter, more comfortable, has a better microphone and sounds better to me. It has a removable cable which is replaceable if needed as well as ear cushions which can be changed out. Simple on eat volume and mute controls so you dont have to fumble around with online control. Sounds great as I mainly player shooters and can detect enemy locations and such with incredible ease. Honestly a great headset if you are on a budget or just want to save money. This one does everything the $100-$150 headsets do and does most better.

My personal review/experience
8 April 2021

I’m going to start off with me saying that this was my personal experience with it. First of all this headset was super comfortable I loved how comfortable this was. The sound coming from this headset was really good. The microphone was alright it was kind of a downgrade from my old headset because my friend immediately knew the difference between the two and said my old $30 headset was more clear than the arctis 3. Now moving on to the stuff I didn’t like. First of all I only had this headset for a week or so and I already started to have issues with the microphone my friend said that I started to sound like a robot and that it would be a bit static from time to time. Also while I was playing warzone with a squad of 4 they would say that there is buzzing coming ... MoreI’m going to start off with me saying that this was my personal experience with it. I ended up returning this headset for that reason and the microphone making me sound like a robot every now and then. I would recommend this to a friend if there is no issues with it but if the headset comes in like mine then no I would not recommend it. Again this is my personal experience/review for it other people might’ve had a better experience with it or maybe worse but hopefully this helps you

Just got these yesterday, had initial troubles with the mic not working when using the singly 3.5 mm jack on the combo jack on my laptop after switching to the two separate audio and mic jacks and using my Logitech analog to USB dongle thing they worked fine, even the virtual 7.1 when using Logitech's software. After a solid day of using them (today) I've found no problems. They sound good when watching a movie on the go, (Guardians of the Galaxy) as well as when I'm listening to music, the mic is good for chatting over discord or your preferred program and my friend found no problem with my quality in voice through the mic besides my patchy internet. The headband at the top can be adjusted as suited but I found no need to and left it on the default configuration. When using the single 3.5 mm cable variation the cable length is roughly halved which makes it very nice for just using while walking around or on the bus, which is complimented by how the mic slides away, I can nearly slide it in without having to hold the headset but I think after doing it a few more times I won't need to hold them anymore. They also comfortably sit around my neck, when I need to take them off to talk to someone. I also had no problems then wearing them for an extended period of time, due to their nice earmuffs and solid but light build. They can fold flat which is good for travelling however there are some improvements that it definitely needs; for starters a lower price point seeing as the Logitech G430's are priced at $120 and offer an almost identical experience, however they are slightly less portable; being heavier, however you can wear them for longer periods of time and have the option for them to be either analog or digital with their included dongle or analog by not using the dongle. But with the SteelSeries Arctis 3's you are limited to only analog at the $190 , so at this point they are feeling overpriced and that's because they are. So if you're in the market for a pair of headphones to use as your daily drivers while you're out and about these are for you, with their shortened cable that can fully detach and their share jack. (Yes they have a jack on the headphones to plug in another set of headphones.) However if you need a pair of headphones for staying at your desk and being used for gaming, I strongly recommend the Logitech G430's seeing as they are cheaper and sound the same. TLDR: I found both headsets equally nice but the pricing for the Arctis 3 is unacceptable for an analog only connection. However having the option for a shorter cable length and a different audio jack setup on the Arctis 3's is much nicer apposed to being stuck with Logitech's 3.5 meter long cable and the 2 audio jacks all the time.

Theyre okay, I suppose. Its my first pair of over-ear headphones, and I really wasnt all that impressed.
