These are fantastic as a wired console/pc gaming headset. Steel Series never fails to impress me. Don't be shy from purchasing these due to the price point. I'm more positive that buying the Arctis 1's are worth the bang for their buck. Most of the newer editions are more than likely priced a little higher for their wireless-ness, the added level of cushion/comfort, and extra trinkets like noise cancellation and so many other reasons. So you're not cheapening out with the 1's in any way or form :)

For $30 shipped, these were a deal. These are my first official gaming headphones and they work well. I had to play around with my Windows and Discord settings along with the game volume settings to make everything work in sync with each other. After the first week, I did get a low-tone 'hum' in the left earpiece but after unplugging and reconnecting the cable everything has been good so far.

Read and watched a number of reviews before purchasing and I'm not disappointed. I've been home working and spend my a lot of my day on MS Teams, my previous Sennheiser on-ear headset was fine but began hurting my ears on long calls. This is very comfortable, even on long 3 hour meetings, and blocks out surrounding noise reasonably well. Mic is great, my colleagues have said my voice sounds pretty normal, not nasally as some have suggested. Battery life is amazing and I like how the settings can he adjusted through the desktop application. My son has used this on his Switch and I've plugged the dongle into my Galaxy S10 to listen to music as well. At this price point you genuinely can't go wrong.

I purchased this during the pandemic and when headphone returns are frowned upon with an unclear return policy.It broke the second day I used the headset, with the right ear cup having no sound at all. As I didn't want to stress the frontline workers at Best Buy arguing for return of an "opened headphone", I repaired it myself.There was no glue and I could get at everything with a #0 Phillips screwdriver. The ear cup has 30AWG magnet wire (or thinner), and there was a cold solder joint attaching the wire that goes to the driver and the wire that goes across the head band. Therefore after some light usage, the wires disconnected and therefore I lost sound on that ear cup. I fixed it by resoldering the joint. Internally, the headset does have stress reducing ridges ... I've owned this headset for about a week and it was immediately evident that the build quality is superior to my previous headset (a Razer). I wanted an analog connection since my computers tend to have high quality audio hardware built-in, and because USB headsets can often be finicky. This headset is not a studio quality monitor headset but nor is it meant to be; it sounds quite good for what it does and it's surprisingly comfortable. You can't really see in the photos but the ear cups are set at a small angle to the headband and the result is that they lie over my ears far more comfortably than any other headset I've used (including for aviation). I don't know much about headphones. I bought a 2600w three way speaker system... 18" woofers, 20khz tweeters etc... cause awesome. I can turn it up and its like being at the concert!!!!Then the GF moved in and bogarted my TV. Now I'm forced to wear headphones cause she wants to watch her youtube stuff. =(I've used and liked several Razer products (mice and keyboards) so we tried the Kraken X (~$50 USD). It sounded ok, but broke within three weeks. My giant head may be to blame? But where you extend each earpiece is all plastic. And it broke.Best Buy, to their credit, gave a full refund. I asked the gf to not purchase anything new, but she insisted and came home with these.This is a huge improvement. Again, I'm not familiar with headphones, but comparatively, ...
