The sound quality is definitely great! It’s lacking in the bass area personally, but I have Dolby Access on my Xbox and tuning the EQ settings definitely made the sound richer in all ends including more bass.I’d definitely recommend these to anyone who doesn’t care too much about bass, but if you do, just tune your EQ settings. I can also give anyone my EQ settings I use if anyone needs it.Overall, great purchase!

I have a steelseries headset I got a bunch of years ago for my pc and used it until recently on my ps4 (it still works, my set up just doesn't work with it anymore). On my pc it is perfect on the ps4 it has some static constantly but I got used to it and even liked it because then I knew when I wasn't muted. This headset is:-comfortable-A good weight-When the cord isn't screwing up the sound is great.-I have had no issues with the mic as of typing this.-good noise cancelling. Someone was trying to get my attention yelling at me from down my hall and I barely heard her, and this is a woman that TALKS so loudly I can turn my phone all the way down and hold the phone arms length away and still hear clearly WITHOUT having it on speaker. However, after spending ... MoreI have a steelseries headset I got a bunch of years ago for my pc and used it until recently on my ps4 (it still works, my set up just doesn't work with it anymore). I can guarantee it's a cord issue that I'm having and $20 cord replacement is cheaper than a whole new headset considering all the things I do like about it.Buy at your own risk, and absolutely buy on sale if you are buying.

The bad:SteelSeries no longer supports Artis 3 headsets with SteelEngine, so you won't be able to adjust the EQ on a PC to fine tune the sound. The "noise cancelling" microphone does a decent job of filtering out low rumble sounds, but the voice of anyone speaking in your direction will still be heard clearly by everyone on the other end of your conversation.Because the earcups do a decent job of blocking outside side, your voice will be seem distorted when you talk. The net effect is like listening to your own voice when you have your fingers plugging in your ears. The frame makes a lot of plastic, squeaking sounds when you walk around with the headset on. It's distracting when I'm on calls and there isn't a lot of sound.Perceived volume even with the knob ... MoreThe bad:SteelSeries no longer supports Artis 3 headsets with SteelEngine, so you won't be able to adjust the EQ on a PC to fine tune the sound. When sitting still, that makes it easier to focus. The cables provided are more than long enough. I use the short one with a single jack to connect to either my cell phone or my laptop. I add the Y-adapter cord to connect to my desktop PC.The retractable mic is a better choice for my usage pattern (may need to answer a call at any moment) than the detachable microphones used in the Arctis 3 and 7 models.

Pros: For me it was important that the headset didnt hurt my head or ears, because my last one did, and this headset is not a problem at all. The sound and the microphone works really well. Its really comfortable and the design is really nice. Ive not had any problemsCons: If I had to say anything, i wish the mute and volume controls were on the wire, and not on the headset. I dont like picking my arm up because i keep my hands down towards the mouse and keyboard. Would be less movement if it was on the wire. That being said its not much of an issue.
This thing is awesome! It was at a great price and a much-needed upgrade. The ski band design is super comfortable and I could wear this thing for hours at a time if I ever played video games that long haha! I was hesitant to buy this product because of the retractable mic and I was worried it would break. It is very well built and it is a great feature to have. The mute button is a little cumbersome at first but soon it becomes very efficient. My previous mic was a flip-down for unmute flip-up for mute type and I will admit that I prefer that design much more but this way still works great. The cables are very high quality and my biggest complaint is the angle that the cable comes out of the headset from the back. It is at an angle going back which is nice to keep the cord out of our way but if you sit in a recliner or on a couch and lean back you can occasionally feel the way that cable pushes out. Very minor. Overall awesome product!
I got these to replace my Sennheiser PC363D which can be found for reference here: https://www.trustedreviews.com/reviews/sennheiser-pc-363dThe pro's:- Very sleek design and functionality- Long cords ensure you can do proper cable managementThe cons:- The advertised SteelSeries software no longer supports these headphones!!!- The sound quality is quite lackluster even for the price- They are incredibly quiet, Idk if this is something to do with my motherboard not outputting much power to the audio jacks? Conclusion:I will be bringing these back as they don't suffice my requirements, even if my pair is faulty (which i really hope is the case since these are performing so poorly). The lacking volume doesn't help with the inability to determine directional sound using the advertised windows sound sonic settings to emulate 7.1.Spend and extra 80-100 and get a headset with an amp imo
Terribly uncomfortable for anyone who has ears over 2 centimetres in width, does not come with a USB adapter which is essentially a must-have for most modern headphones, and most importantly it is incompatible with steelseries software, meaning if you do not like the audio quality, there is nothing you can do about it. Not to mention the fact that when I plugged it in my laptop microphone stopped working and I could not even use the headset mic. 2/10 product at best, I’d recommend a Logitech or Razer headset instead.
Just got these yesterday, had initial troubles with the mic not working when using the singly 3.5 mm jack on the combo jack on my laptop after switching to the two separate audio and mic jacks and using my Logitech analog to USB dongle thing they worked fine, even the virtual 7.1 when using Logitech's software. After a solid day of using them (today) I've found no problems. They sound good when watching a movie on the go, (Guardians of the Galaxy) as well as when I'm listening to music, the mic is good for chatting over discord or your preferred program and my friend found no problem with my quality in voice through the mic besides my patchy internet. The headband at the top can be adjusted as suited but I found no need to and left it on the default configuration. ... MoreJust got these yesterday, had initial troubles with the mic not working when using the singly 3.5 mm jack on the combo jack on my laptop after switching to the two separate audio and mic jacks and using my Logitech analog to USB dongle thing they worked fine, even the virtual 7.1 when using Logitech's software. When using the single 3.5 mm cable variation the cable length is roughly halved which makes it very nice for just using while walking around or on the bus, which is complimented by how the mic slides away, I can nearly slide it in without having to hold the headset but I think after doing it a few more times I won't need to hold them anymore. They also comfortably sit around my neck, when I need to take them off to talk to someone. I also had no problems then wearing them for an extended period of time, due to their nice earmuffs and solid but light build. They can fold flat which is good for travelling however there are some improvements that it definitely needs; for starters a lower price point seeing as the Logitech G430's are priced at $120 and offer an almost identical experience, however they are slightly less portable; being heavier, however you can wear them for longer periods of time and have the option for them to be either analog or digital with their included dongle or analog by not using the dongle. But with the SteelSeries Arctis 3's you are limited to only analog at the $190 , so at this point they are feeling overpriced and that's because they are. So if you're in the market for a pair of headphones to use as your daily drivers while you're out and about these are for you, with their shortened cable that can fully detach and their share jack. (Yes they have a jack on the headphones to plug in another set of headphones.) However if you need a pair of headphones for staying at your desk and being used for gaming, I strongly recommend the Logitech G430's seeing as they are cheaper and sound the same.TLDR: I found both headsets equally nice but the pricing for the Arctis 3 is unacceptable for an analog only connection. However having the option for a shorter cable length and a different audio jack setup on the Arctis 3's is much nicer apposed to being stuck with Logitech's 3.5 meter long cable and the 2 audio jacks all the time.
I love steelseries and have been using siberia v2’s for years with no fault. Finally decided to upgrade to there new range and wow they went backwards. The sound quality is very tinny, not much life to it. The quality of the actual headset went backwards as well. The Siberia headset was very strong and durable, whereas it feels like if you dropped the arctis 3 it would break instantly. But I can live with these issues. The one I cannot live with is there self acclaimed “best mic for gaming”. This has to be the worst quality mic i have ever heard, it picks up what your playing in your headphones no matter how quiet, you can play with the settings as much as you want. This headset is very comfortable and has pretty good sound for the price, but on arrival the microphone was broken (this seems to be a pretty common issue with other people who bought this headset) and the audio occasionally starts clipping because of the strange connection from your computer into the headset. It's a tiny little USB-type connector on the headset's end, and even when it is fully plugged in, it jiggles from side to side a lot. It is very easy for it to get unplugged if the cable gets caught on something, if you turn around, etc.I wouldn't recommend this headset, unless you want to tape the connector to the headset so that it can't come out, but that ruins one of the main points of this headset; that it's portable and can be unplugged. Also, many people (myself included) have had the microphone stop transmitting (except in my case it never worked in the first place), possibly because of how you can retract it back into the headset. I'd recommend the HyperX Cloud Alpha instead of this headset, as it has great sound and no fancy gimmicks that break easily like on this headset. It also has a detachable microphone that works, if you need something like that.
