First time wearing underwear that are long like this & not just normal briefs. These are so silky smooth, light & breathable. It actually felt like I was wearing nothing at all because they were so thin & light, but in a good way. They are a great length & this means I don't need to wear bike pants over my underwear to help my legs to stop rubbing together. I also wanted a pair of underwear that wouldn't roll down & this didn't move all day & they didn't roll up from the thigh area either. There are very comfortable around my waist area & no digging in & no more pulling my underwear up all the time. I will defiantly be purchasing more of these.

The construction of these is very clever - no seams down the back or sides, and the few seams that exist are really fine and flat. Waistband is wide and comfortable. The fabric feels lovely, the cut is nice and high on the waist, with a good length in the leg too, and they don't appear to ride up. Think they'll be great under dresses in the summer. So far, they're washing really well too. I expected them to be nice, but they're much more impressive than I anticipated - will happily buy more when my drawer needs a restock!

My partner has bought these for a few years and I always wanted a pair. Then one day he saw on their website that women's pairs were being introduced. I must have about 30 pairs of step ones now, all different patterns. I love them so much. It's good to see they're in John Lewis now. Sometimes the step one website does deals and discounts and they have more designs on their website too! I defo recommend though. Whenever there's a sale I always buy like 10 at a time cos the more you buy, the cheaper a pair costs. They're so lightweight and seamless and just so much comfier than most women's traditional underwear.

I bought these to solve chaffing and comfort issues, convinced of the fantastic marketing seen on TV. I given it a few months of wear, trying not to be swayed by my first thoughts. To sum up, I just took these off and threw them in the bin I was that sick of them. The legs consistently roll up, finally residing in a huge uncomfortable roll in my groin. The rolling pushes my inner thighs out, actually causing more chaffing. The waist doesn't sit on my waist. I feel as though I wanted at least an extra 3cm of height to the waist, and 3cm length to the short. The bamboo fabric is soft but does not have as muchstretch or much as I would like or expect underwear too, to move with me during the day. The bamboo fabric is soft but does not have as muchstretch or much as I would like or expect underwear too, to move with me during the day. I've spent more time adjusting and tugging these shorts down and constantly adjusting myself during wear than I ever have with any underwear, ever. I bought a size larger than I would normally as I thought better to have too big than too small with an online purchase. They fit and if I was to stand still and not move, these would be fabulous. But for an active woman, the experience of wearing these shorts marketed for comfort and anti-chaffe has been exactly the opposite :(
While they are very comfortable, I did have a few small issues. To start with, I am a trans man, on the slight large side. I do not usually buy underwear products aimed at afab people. I usually prefer trunks/boxer briefs but have issues with fit - ie as is typical with many afab people, I have a larger waist to hip/butt/thigh ratio. So many products are either extra baggy at the waist or stretched tight across the hips/butt/thighs, and tend to ride up.I gave these a try as they were the only brand I've seen advertise trunks aimed at my body shape in Australia.I had tried Step One in the past, with the same issues as above (apart from the riding up - that surprisingly was fine). These ones were nearly perfect. These ones were nearly perfect. They still cut in a little at the thigh, but but had such a fantastic fit in the waist and butt I am very tempted to buy more. The biggest problem I have is during my period. With my usual mens trunks I have sewn in a gusset (a small rectangle of material attach at the front and back, left open at the sides) to attach pads. However, with these, the material is so fine and soft, a gusset can't be attached, and they are too expensive to experiment too much. I would love if they were updated with a small gusset to which pads can attach and wrap around. Or you could start making period underwear! That's really my only gripe, and it might seem small to some people, but with my dyphoria surrounding my period, it would be lovely to have something that is super easy and still comfortable.(Also some more fun colours wouldn't go amiss!!)
Really wanted to like these but they weren't as comfortable as I had hoped. The elastic at the bottom of the legs was a little too tight for me. While the fabric feels nice they were a bit too low in the crotch. I think they would provide some relief if your thighs chafe, but if you are looking for any sort of compression or slimming in the thighs they don't provide any. Got these on offer, which is why I tried them. Wouldn't pay full price. While they were not for me, the fabric and quality was good and others may love them.
I tried these because my partner loves the men’s version. These are comfortable enough and seem to be lasting ok but I find the legs are looser and ride up causing a chub rub risk while I walk and the waist band digs in and leaves an unattractive siluetee. This surprised me because I carry more weight in my thighs than my belly/waist.The gusset has the absorbency of sexy lingerie without any of the sexiness and the complete lack of absorbency/wicking means the moisture increases the chub rub risk and adding panty liners to boxers can be hit or miss. There is no support to offer any sort of shaping either. I like good quality underwear and don’t mind paying for it but these just don’t offer any features to justify the price.-neither super comfortable or super ... MoreI tried these because my partner loves the men’s version. These are comfortable enough and seem to be lasting ok but I find the legs are looser and ride up causing a chub rub risk while I walk and the waist band digs in and leaves an unattractive siluetee. I like good quality underwear and don’t mind paying for it but these just don’t offer any features to justify the price.-neither super comfortable or super sexy.-fit is not amazing on my body.-gusset is too thin to absorb sweat so they wouldn’t hold up at all against discharge.-no added support or shaping. These just don’t have any features that people with vaginas would be impressed by unlike their other line that offers ball cupping.I wish I’d spent the money on modibodi because they are at least actively functional. These step one women’s boxers are no more special than Kmart versions and at least Kmart is cheap.
Step One underwear is great. I enjoy the level of comfort it provides me with. They’re stretchy and breathable. The only aspect of Step One that I believe needs improving is their service when replacing wrong sized pairs. I appreciate that Step One employees respond, are nice, and allow people to replace the wrong sized pairs of underwear; however, there was quite a number of people who responded to my emails that sometimes employees would say the same thing / ask me to do something I’d already done. I think if one person handled one case then that would make it more enjoyable. Despite the issues with the communication, I’m still happy with my boxers and will buy more in the future. Thank you
When first putting them on, I was considering replacing all of my underwear with step ones, but after using them for a couple weeks, I've changed my mind. I'm just wanting to be honest in my review for feedback and other's consideration.I originally gave these a four star review, and said my only main criticism was that they needed to be a bit longer, as they sit at an awkward spot on the thigh.Over the day, with various activities (work, housework, working out, errands, sleeping, etc), I'm not finding these helping me in any of the ways I'd hoped. I ended up replacing my drawer with cotton briefs, and I'm very happy with that (was greatly cheaper also).- The length is a major issue. I ended up replacing my drawer with cotton briefs, and I'm very happy with that (was greatly cheaper also).- The length is a major issue. For me, they ride up making a bunch of fabric at the top of the leg, which feels like awkward full briefs with a big bulky leg rib, and defeats the purpose of them being boxers. It seems I bought the right size according to the size guide and my usual clothes, but I find the cut/design wrong for me.- The thick elastic waist band feels intense/heavy at times. That, with the rolled-up legs.- I don't find them particularly cooling or moisture wicking. I find them to do the opposite.- I bought 2 black pairs and 1 blush pink. I'm very particular about my laundry light and dark loads, and somehow the blush pink pair have collected a bunch of black pilling (balls of fabric which have stuck onto them). I'm assuming it's rubbed off from my other clothes while wearing them. This happened only after a couple of wears.- I sometimes reach for these to give them another go, but they soon become annoying.- I'm not sure yet how feminine products would stick to the bamboo, but I feel this may also be a bit awkward. For women, I highly recommend trying just one pair in your knicker rotation over a couple weeks. Wear them in all aspects of your life (work, housework, working out, errands, sleeping, etc), send them through the wash/drying process, and really decide if you like them. When I first put them on, I thought it was life-changing, but now I realise I think it's just the cut was so new to me (no band around the top of the leg). But in action, once life started happening, they really haven't worked for me at all, personally. Happy to hear others have had better success.2 stars, because they are well-made.
I purchased a black pair in XL initially to try these out. They are absolutely amazing and certainly deliver on the claim of being the most comfortable underwear you'll ever wear. They run true to size and I actually wear them as shorts, although without any other underwear underneath. The material is really thick and looks nice enough to easily pass for a pair of high end bike shorts, but much, much more comfortable. They were an absolute lifesaver for me in summer, as ever since i gained weight and became a size 16-18 I've had the usual problem of shafing whenever I wore skirts, dresses or loose trousers. On the other hand, tights and bike shorts look awful on someone my size and are also almost always synthetic, which makes them extremely uncomfortable in the ... MoreI purchased a black pair in XL initially to try these out. They are absolutely amazing and certainly deliver on the claim of being the most comfortable underwear you'll ever wear. On the other hand, tights and bike shorts look awful on someone my size and are also almost always synthetic, which makes them extremely uncomfortable in the Australian summer heat and humidity. These boxers look great on, are very comfy, do not ride up, and are not synthetic - they let your skin breathe so that you never end up with a sweaty mess between your thighs.I've been recommending them to everyone ever since I bought the first pair and have already ordered 6 more in different colours for myself and my mum, who loved them when she saw them on me and begged me right away to order a couple pairs for her.The only problem is they sell out so quick that you have to be on the email waiting list to get your size and colour! But it's definitely worth the wait. I ended up trying Boodi when I found my size sold out at Step One, and while they were also great, they're nothing on these guys. Was super happy when new stock came in and made a large order with express shipping because I can't wait to get my hands on all the colours!
