Two of my cats really love using the edge of the couch as a fierce stretching and clawing area. I had no idea how much until threads and pieces of the actual fabric began to hang off. It is a lovely piece of furniture in itself so I wanted to avoid a 'coverup'. Upon finding these 'Sticky Paws' strips, I gave them a try -- they are truly amazing! I placed two on, side-by-side and as of that moment, it was as though the edge of the couch no longer existed. Both cats ignore it completely and have totally taken to the actual scratch post which sits close by! Mission accomplished :)! A fantastic find, I am truly impressed! It will save my furniture and curtains from those sharp roaming paws! :)

Did I feel like I was purchasing overpriced and over-marketed tape? Yes. Did it stop my cat from ruining my wicker furniture in less than two days? Also yes. Would I purchase again? Absolutely!

I put these at the entrance to my kitchen to try to keep my cat out. One of the couple times that she walked into the kitchen she did step onto the sticky paws and I saw her kind of look at her paw and shake it weird. But otherwise she walked right over it. Maybe I just didn't put enough of them.After they did not work on the floor, I decided to put them on the kitchen counter. Unsure if they prevented her from getting up there. But they did leave a very sticky residue on the kitchen counters after being placed on the floor.We may use them elsewhere, such as keeping her out of the food containers.

At this price point I am definitely expecting more than a sticky piece of double sided tape which actually would have been cheaper and worked better. It’s impossible to get these to stick to anything whether it has been treated with scotchguard or not. I have a number of different fabric textures in my home so one of them should have worked. The only one I got it to work on was a plush faux fur like texture. Everything else was a bust.
I used to have a recliner chair that my 2x cats clawed to death, so I got these & put them on every bit of the chair that they had tried to destroy. It's like double sided sticky tape but much thicker and wider., you can leave it on one side if you wish. I had it both sides sticky, except for the top of the chair where they would lay. It didn't come off & it actually worked very well. I now have a brand new chair and I have not had to put anything on it to protect it and they leave it alone, as in destroy it. It's been 3 years since I have had the new chair and not a scratch on it. Yes I would recommend this.
I have three cats that love stretching their claws out on our furniture. We love our cats like they are children to us, but we were getting very upset with them. We bought a new couch and knew we wanted to deter them from scratching it. We purchased these double sided sticky tape strips from petco, and put them on the sofa immediately. Our cats are deterred completely with these! We couldn’t believe our eyes! They would go to scratch and either see the tape, or would make contact with it and they did not like it! I’m very happy with this purchase and have already shared it with my friends and family with fur babies!
Not all cats are the same, apparently some hate the sticky tape. My female tuxedo cat who is almost 1yrs tore all it off and seriously balled all the tape up into one ball. She thought it was a toy. It lasted about 5mins after I put it up. Plus I didn't like all the little strips completely a pain to tear, I do not recommend this for larger open sided couches/furniture. I'm sure this will work for older cats but if they are young and depending on your cats personality this may not be good. Back to blankets over the couch;-)

I bought this product to deter my kitten from clawing the furniture. Not only did it not help with clawing, this product is not quality and fell off furniture easily. Due to the film coming off the furniture, my kitten consumed the product. This product blocked her intestines, requiring immediate, emergency surgery. This product is not safe for your pets and should not be sold by any trusting retailer.
I am sorry to say this product did not stick to either of my couches. I'm not sure if the product was old, but it wasn't tacky at all and was useless to deter my cat from scratching. It simply did not stick, therefore extremely dissapointing. I only gave it one star because I couldn't submit review with no stars. Would like my money back.
