Quite a bit heavier than the HLA66, same as though, Concerns over longevity, shears are already wearing. We have the 300s batteries which last all day with intermittent clearing of arisings. Great reach! Telescopic is very useful.

Great product (although first one received was faulty and didn't work - hence only 4 stars).Although a little heavy to use after a while, doubtlessly it's a massive improvement on the ease of use of a petrol version.Great battery life (from an AP300 Battery Unit) and cuts through some pretty thick laurel stems too.Overall very happy (as I am also with my Cordless Stihl Leaf Blower and Strimmer!!)
First time ive bought a Stihl product and im pleased i did. Its excellent quality and the long reach coupled with the blade angle adjustment makes the job easier. Ive always used a corded product in the past but the long lasting battery pack on this model makes the job quicker and the finish is better. Would reccomend.
Excellent hedge trimmer. Definitely worth the the investment getting this as you can feel and see the quality with how it cuts and I was never worried that it was going to breakdown.The only little thing that might be better is where you put the battery in, the plastic feet/rests can get scratched easily. Some rubber covers on these could help - but its a purely an aesthetic thing.
I work for an organic landscape maintenance company and we've been slowing moving over to all battery powered equipment. This piece has been a fan favorite of our field staff as it is light weight so it is easier on your body. You do have to get used to a new weight balance compared to the gas powered piece, but once you are used to the light weight it is great!
I borrowed one of these from a friend and loved it. I thought it would be to heavy but it wasn’t. I have other Stihl equipment and know their quality is the best.
I have a lot of bushes on my small city lot, including privet that is 7 feet tall. I've been using small a corded trimmer and ladder for years and needed to replace it. The HLA 66 was an excellent choice for so many reasons. The longer blade means I spend less time trimming and get more even cuts on large bushes. I no longer need a ladder with the extended reach and articulating head. I love not having to manage an extension cord (that I've cut numerous times), and the battery doesn't show any sign of depletion after an hour of trimming. It's a great investment, and I look forward to expanding my Stihl AP tool set in the future!
