Strymon BigSky Multidimensional Reverb, studio-class reverb algorithms

Bought mainly for synths. It’s probably overkill for most guitar reverb situations really. Transforms a Korg minilogue into something else entirely. Versatile pro level reverb models far richer than any vst I have. Bit over priced maybe but if you don’t mind paying for that luxury and you like big ambient sounds.

The Strymon BigSky is a superb reverb pedal for both guitars and synthesisers.I use it predominantly on synths and it is by far and away the best reverb I have used. The BigSky is simple to use and yet complex enough to create incredible sounding reverbs.Arguably, it is getting a bit old now and unlike newer Strymon pedals, lacks a USB port for simple midi-syncing. It has traditional 5-pin midi in outs, so this shouldn’t be a game breaker. The build quality is very good, as you’d expect from Strymon, but it’s here where my one complaint is. The majority of pots on the pedal, are great but the Type and Value pots feel a bit wiggly and are too easy to accidentally move. I’m not sure why they’re not all the same - there’s a good enough reason - but it is a bit ... You cannot go wrong with this pedal if you’re after an amazing reverb.

Absolutely incredible sounds from this pedal, build quality is brilliant and the different reverb types are endless, only fault that I can say about it was the lack of instructions in the instruction booklet that comes with it ! Pretty much useless as far as how to navigate the preset menu? Fortunately I did find some guidance on YouTube on how to find said presets! But after i found out it’s been an absolute joy to use, I was thinking if it was worth the quite high price tag ? But fear not, it’s worth every penny I can assure you, takes your music production to another level! Stunning 😍

Since the wait to get into Guitar Center was over an hour long and they do not carry Strymon products like the Big Sky Reverberator Effects. I was very fortunate that I could walk into Sam Ash and their salesman Shawn took care of me right away. He checked the product out in front of me and I was very pleased with the service. Everyone was wearing their masks properly and hand sanitizer was provided throughout the store. Got home and found the Big Sky offers all I wanted and more. It produces a wider range of effects and the ability to modulate the sound to your desire. Great product and a great store.
Strymon and the Big Sky have a big reputation and it's not underserved. The range and variety of sounds is extensive (that's an understatement) and will take quite some time to explore and get used to. I've tried running it through a guitar and synth so far and am particularly impressed by the way it reacts with the Korg. The pedal is far less heavy (in terms of weight) than I was expecting, not a problem, just a bit surprising. The dials feel well made, secure and respond nicely. Much more playing & experimentation is needed before truly realising what the big sky can do, but early impressions are that it's a very decent pedal with a lot of potential. I hoped this pedal would live up to the hype around it and found it to go way beyond my expectations. The quality of sound, the inspirational things it throws back at my ears is truly outstanding. I'm using it with acoustic and electric piano for worship and ambient music and have been blown away by the Big Sky.
This pedal not only looks great! it's just amazing. I usually nervous about using a lot of effects and I was looking at other small reverb pedals and lo and behold this came up on a search of best reverb pedals. I hesitated at first with the price but took a chance and so far, I'm not disappointed with the sounds. My only thing is learning to navigate the controls is challenging, but then it's a new thing and patience guess is the key. make no mistake this is a beast and stands along. the sounds are so beautiful and just makes your instrument sounds as if you are in the state-of-the-art venue or have the best amp system rig. nope it's just Big Sky. I feel like a kid with a new Christmas toy. this has lifted my flavor to create and inspire. thank you Sweetwater and ... MoreThis pedal not only looks great! it's just amazing. Seriously, got this last week for myself. Played through a fender pro junior that has tubes made by gods own fair hands, fender 50’s strat that Jimmy Hendrix himself begged a luthier to recreate. Holy moly. I may as well be playing in the great hall on Lord of the Rings in the mines of Moria. This thing brings sounds back from beyond the monolith in space odyssey. It’s actually fairly straightforward to use, put a toddler in front of it and they’ll be able to strangle the noises from the middle 3 Star Wars films - those ghastly pod racers - in 2 minutes flat. It’s sturdier than an old camel and looks as good as Emilia Clarke at the start of game of thrones before that massive guy with the tatts grabs a hold of her and gives her the what for.Simple, just get it, ... This pedal is amazing, plain & simple. I was instantly energized in playing through my repertoire when plugging this thing in for the first time. The control knobs allow for creative combinations that make unique sounds I've never before seen in a reverb pedal. There are several creative presets that I instantly knew I could use. All in all, it's an amazing, majestic sounding pedal that is definitely gonna be on my pedal board for a long time coming.
Gotta say I’m really impressed with this one. Out of all the popular pedals I’ve rented, I’d say the BigSky lived up to the hype more than any of the other ones have. It has a very lush sound and an expansive stereo image which is just plain impressive over headphones. You could do production work like soundtracks with this unit. One criticism I read about it was that it can be tough to dial in something middle-of-the-road—it’s either subtle or overpowering—and I can see how someone might feel that way. I guess the trick there is coming up with the right amount of decay time and the right dry/wet mix. As with any pedal this deep, it requires some patience and some digging—past a certain point you’re gonna get good results proportionate to the amount of effort you ... This unit is expensive but sometimes you get what you pay for and that’s the case here. It’s a big boy reverb and I can’t imagine anyone feeling disappointed by the sounds its capable of. Very, very nice.
