I have some tweed amp clones (5E3, 5E7, 5F11) and wanted to see how they sounded with reverb and tremolo. I have a friend who allowed me to borrow his stand alone tube driven reverb/ trem unit made by a well known and respected boutique builder (street price 1500 to 1800 USD). I bought this pedal locally to compare against that unit. (300USD). THIS PEDAL SOUNDED JUST AS GOOD WITH ALMOST NO NOISE. I returned the stand alone unit. I won't be returning this pedal. Sounds very good on all the "period" settings, built like a tank, super quiet operation. If you're looking for a good pedal for recreating a lot of old school sounds, as well as more modern ones, look no further. This is the one you want.

I bought this to compliment a non-tremolo/reverb head and it works great through the effects loop. I also like this with my 64 custom deluxe reverb. Gives me more control and versatility than the on board Tremolo and reverb and much easier to dial the Flint in for a range of sounds. Absolutely nails those classic tones. I found the color and mix functions really add something special. Better than any built in reverb I’ve had. Light years ahead of any reverb or tremolo pedal I’ve had. Overall, very happy with purchase.

It's a fabulous pedal! The sound is so cool and inspiring that you just can't stop playing the guitar or force yourself to turn the pedal off.SamAsh delivered it really fast, great service. The only small disappointment was the color of the knobs - they are black in fact but creamy on the website. After some googling, I realized that the manufacturer currently has issues with the creamy knobs supplier. However, a notification on the SamAsh's site would be useful.

From the springy sound of a reverb tank to the great hall sound of a plate reverb the Flint delivers. Then once the right reverb is set you can bring in beautiful tremolo sounds. I especially like the way the Flint works when run into a clean amp.
Lets start that I have not been disappointed with a Strymon device. It consistently sounds great and is built well. I only give it 4 stars because of price. Which honestly is a fair price. But it is still expensive. ANYWAY. The choices of tremolo and reverb work really well together and by themselves. Yes you are technically limited to fine tuning the effects but that is not the intention of the pedal to have a highly customizable effect. Experiment with pedals before and after it. It gives whole new levels of the pedal. There seems to be a lot of dual effect pedals right now and this is one of the top ones because it focuses on how they work together.
I'm not really a pedal guy but this is a first rate pedal offering a selection of reverb and tremolo settings. I was wanting this pedal to use with a new Fender 57 Custom Champ to give increase my sound options to include vintage reverb and tremolo. The pedal works really well with the Champ.
Outstanding unit: two Strymon pedals in one. Reverb side will cover pretty much all your bread and butter reverb needs, including classic Spring and ambient flavours. Long decay Plate is a highlight, the tone knob really does shape the highs. 80s Hall sounds rich and deep. The Tremolo side offers genuine variety between modes; harmonic is 3D, watery and mesmemeric. (Reminds me of the Rockett Revolver, which is high praise indeed.) Tube is more solid with a bit of bite and of drive; optical is choppy and rhythmic. So for £140 for each side, in one compact stereo unit used by countless artists, you really can't go wrong.
I was having no luck finding a reverb that I liked until I looked into the Flint. I had previously ignored it because I had my eye on a separate tremolo pedal. After rethinking things, I found that the Flint had what I was really looking for: vintage-inspired settings with stereo in/out. All of the tremolos sound great. The harmonic is the most musical, the tube tremolo is the standard sine wave, and the photocell tremolo has a smoother sounding triangle wave. While it isn't the most versatile tremolo pedal out there, each setting is noticeably different and I find them all useful. If you're looking for an old school tremolo sound, look no further. For the reverbs, the 70's (plate) and 80's (hall) settings are lush and straightforward. I am a sucker for Spring (60's) reverb though and no, it doesn't sound like a true analog spring tank BUT it doesn't emulate it very well without sounding like they tried too hard. Some of the spring reverb pedals have algorithms with extreme drip when you crank the knobs, but the Flint can achieve this without being over the top. It helps to use single coil pickups for sure.I won't get it into the secondary knob functions, but I will say you can change the order in which both effects run. Other functions can be found on the Strymon website. Truly, truly great pedal.
This units combination of light weight yet rugged construction makes it perfect for the gigging musician, but more importantly, it sounds phenomenal. We all now expect Strymon to come out with creative, quality effects units, and the Flint is no exception. It can take a dry clean tone and turn it into a vintage paradise. Whether you're after Fender, Vox, or Supro-style combo tones, this unit does the trick by allowing you to add selectable reverb and trem circuits into your amp's effects loop. This is exactly what I was looking for, and it works like a charm.
