Bag is a bit on the small side. Even after grinding, it only filled up the coffee cannister half way. But the taste makes up for that mostly! I gave this to my husband he has absolutely no complaints. None. It was definitely different than the normal foldgers a nice surprise. Since there are no complaints, i take this as a coffee worth getting again.

This year’s holiday trio has a different variety and is quite a steal. I love Stumptown coffee. I have a subscription for the Hairbender blend, however my favorite coffee beans tend to be single origin, Guatemalan beans. I look forward to the Bella Vista beans all year round. This set includes a bag of Bella Vista, a bag of Nano Challa which is a single origin Ethiopian bean, and Evergreen which is a blend of the two. It makes for a fantastic gift. They come in a gorgeous holiday box. Regular price is $48 for the set, which is already a good deal, but it’s on sale for 20% off until December 13th. I ordered 3 boxes. Two as gifts, and one for myself. I love ordering from Stumptown. They roast your beans right before they send them, and they deliver quickly using UPS. ... MoreThis year’s holiday trio has a different variety and is quite a steal. I love Stumptown coffee. This is GREAT coffee if you know how to extract properly. I grind it a little more fine than I should, and on a French Press, 4 heaping scoops, to 2 c. HOT water. Pour it onto the freshly groud beans, let it sit 1 minute, stir, then place French Press top on. I like to let it steep 14 mins. I find that if I do it less, it's too acidic for my liking. If you plunge at 14 mins, it's good. If you plunge later than that, it's still good but the coffee is not as hot. To the person that called this coffee "gross" -- pretty sure it isn't the coffee. Maybe it was the way you prepped it. Good luck, next time.

I am a “fair weather” coffee drinker, I’m not addicted, and typically enjoy the smell of brewing coffee more than the taste of the brewed cup. I never drink it in the summer, unless it’s iced with plenty of cream and sweetener. I bought this on a whim, and we brewed it at our cabin where we celebrated Christmas this year. The whole family was impressed at how smooth, tasty and delicious it was. I’ll have to say it’s one of the few coffees that have actually tasted delicious, with no bitterness at all. I’m in love.
I've tried and enjoyed Holler Mountain and wanted to try another Stumptown offering. I grind my beans and use french press or pour over, mainly french press. Homestead is balanced and smooth. Flavors are mainly milk chocolate with hints of orange/lemon and floral notes. I extend the brew time for my press to 7-8 min. to bring out the flavors of a light roast like this. This helped I would not recommend 4 min. brew time for press; use pour over instead if you don't want a longer press brew time. The flavor was a bit weak. I used a 1:14 or 1:15 coffee/water ratio for my press and that gave me a stronger flavor, but nothing great. I thought Holler Mountain was better, had a more complex set of flavors. I might try Homestead again but then again maybe not.
I do agree with others here, that I would only buy a bag in store and make sure the bag has an expiration date close to roasting. I bought a bag today that is 1 month from roasting and packaging. Makes a great tasting latte and Americano. This is my second bag. Is a great deal if you can find it for $13 instead of $16.
When picking out this coffee I wasn’t sure what the blend was going to be. I took a chance and bought it. I use a French press to make my coffee so I grind the coffee beans. It smells like a great coffee but I am not a fan of light roast coffee. If you like a light roast this is for you. Like I said it smelled great but it wasn’t for me.
These beans are safe to use in a super automatic espresso machine. They aren’t oily at all. The aroma in the bag isn’t very strong and the roast date was less than 30 days ago. Once I got a shot going, there was an amazing amount of crema. There is some acidity but it’s not acrid. After the coffee is brewed and you smell it, you’ll feel like you’re in a coffee shop in the PNW. So far this coffee has made an excellent espresso con panna. Definitely a smooth roast.
grounded fine with burr grinder. pressed a shot with aeropress. strong excellent full flavor with big caffeine jolt. excellent roast level. "best by" date had passed but brewed cup was great. puchased at reduced price. would be a shame if walmart stopped stocking. really good beans.
