I have thick, dense hair. I have to use too much for it to be a "firm" or "strong hold" but even clays need to be packed on to hold my hair, so I won't knock it for that. I tend to use a small dime amount and just back it up with a non-scented hairspray. It has a clean, ambery fragrance that is a little on the stronger side for a hair product. If you wear multiple fragranced products, you have to be mindful of this. It does have a bit of a shine, but not greaser shiny. It is very soluble in water, so it washes out very well. If I only use this, I don't even necessarily have to use shampoo since I don't like to wash my hair every single day.

Amazing pomade my son has thick hair and I was first using the cremo pomade however after some months it was no longer holding his hair up and I searched for a new one and landed on this one. All I can say is that it’s AMAZING it hold his hair up in the style that he loves and leaves a shiny wet look on him if that’s what he wants if not he just combs it and the shine diminishes for a more natural look. I am so glad I bought this pomade and I already ordered another one. 100% recommended!!!

Was excited when I originally found Firme Clay and would have given 5 starts for the old product. However, the formula clearly has changed for the worse. Even though customer service denies the change…The Firme Clay no longer has the same hold, weighs the hair down, and make the hair appear greasy. Very disappointed in the change as the product no longer works how I need and now must find a new product. Would gladly come back to the Firme Clay if it changed back to the previous formula.
I have been using Suavecito Firme Hold Pomade for a few years now and love the product. It works great for styling my hair and has a great scent. I recently ordered a new jar and Suavecito accidentally shipped the clay version instead of the pomade. I contacted the company through their web site and received a prompt reply telling me that they would send me the correct product and to keep the clay. Within a few days I had the pomade. I will continue using this product and very much appreciate the outstanding customer service that I received.
I’ve used Suavecito Pomade on and off comparing it to other products for maybe 2 years now. I always use the strong hold. Oddly, 2 of the containers I’ve used in the last, held my hair with no issue. My hair is thick and fairly heavy and I slick it back usually. However, the last 3 I’ve used, 2 of the original firme, and one of the f&f firme, will not hold my hair without the use of hairspray as well. I’m not sure why. Other than that, I can’t complain. Although, I do wish I didn’t need to use both as I didn’t used to and I also prefer the ease of washing out a water based pomade to clay products.
I’ve used suavecito before and I love it. Unfortunately I had to give this review because I bought the bigger tub and I got the firme hold ( which is the one I received) but the quality of this one is not the usual firme. I think that perhaps a mistake was made in the packaging process because it feels and works like the regular hold. Also: I jumped on getting the tub for the free gifts and I was sent the wrong ones, and the rep didn’t want to correct the problem. So, bad experience this time around.
Great product, smells really good. Reasonable price compared to retail. Seller pack in bubble wrapped.For me, best use is after blowing hair dry towards the direction u desired and that apply the pomade n style, easily volume up with a proper comb.But i may want to try other stronger hold pomades that can use for sports as well.Thumbs up for sgpomades for so many pomade options. My hair does as it's told with all the pomades. But I don't know if I'm a fan of clay as much as I love the OG. I just like how the paste spreads better on my hair. I totally love the no shine the clay provides but spreads a lil clumpy. The hold and scent is always on point and always easy to wash out. Not at all complaining I have the matte pomade as well which spreads great. I have a whole jar of the clay so I'll give it go and see if I can figure it out.
