I have had this iron for three months now and I find the triangle cut out at the tip of the ironing plate catches on seams, buttons stitching collars and any slightly raisedfabric on all items! I have always used this brand with no problems....until this one!

Unfortunately this iron isn't very durable nor efficient at ironing. It would need multiple passes on both sides of a shirt to get all the creases out.. In less than a year it stopped functioning all together. The insides rust very easily (which seems to be a common problem) and would leave rust specks on clothes.Mighty Ape's service when returning this product was excellent however.

I bought this iron when I needed to replace household items following a flood. Having been a lifetime supporter of Sunbeam irons, I was very disappointed to find this model quite impractical. The recesses in the sole plate create the problem. When ironing, the iron grabs the edge of the fabric being ironed and pulls it creating more creases than what is being ironed out. This is extraordinarily annoying.

Good value.

The iron works well and looks smart. It glides over clothes smoothly and the steam function helps to remove creases. It is not too heavy.

Hate it
4 April 2020

Just bought it..tried it..and I’m taking it straight back to the store. I hate the indented soleplate that iron wrinkles into the fabric on a back sweep motion. I sew a lot and need to iron fiddly seam and hems into place and this iron can’t even handle flat pillowcases. Also the heat seems to drop out quickly. The shot of steam button is awkward to use and most women would have smaller hands than I do which would make it even more difficult for them. The lead comes out of the iron on the swivel ball...that does not swivel....it so tight.I have used sunbeam irons all my life and have never been disappointed until now.

I don’t mind iron with this iron
15 August 2022

It is a very good iron ,I rang Sunbeam to inquire about the light going off in 3sec after I turn it on and the water tank doesn’t go down at all ,so the iron worked so well I needed to clarify my questions to Sunbeam so I am amazed at the efficiency of the iron that I was perplexed at the features of the iron .I mean am use to my old iron with the light on while am ironing and off when am finished that I am so surprised at this one so well smooth and efficient that I am pleased to say yes don’t hesitate to purchase one ,Good on you Sunbeam

Looks good, performance not the best
6 December 2021

The iron looks good and is comfortable and light to use. However the steam function doesn't seem to work properly and the top temperature isn't as hot as my old Sunbeam.

I had a much older version of this which I had been using for more than 15 years. It lasted so well and was still running as good as new. The exterior had just aged and looked old. I wanted a replacement and found the very similar improved version which I purchased. I have started using and love it even more than my previous version.

Not sure yet, it keeps 'popping' loudly, obviously because of the steam. Will need to see how it goes for a while but if it doesn't improve I will be bringing it back.

worst sunbeam iron
19 July 2022

Worst iron. Does not heat enough and leaves creases if you don't use shot of steam. Continually using shot of steam hard on arthritic joints. Catches the fabric and creases the fabric. I usually buy sunbeam. Very disappointed
