What a terrific product. Simplex easy to use and produces great coffee without blowing the budget. I fell in love with drip coffee whilst travelling through North America and couldn’t wait to get a new machine when I came home and try it out with some quality coffee beans. I especially love that no paper filters are required and how easy it is to clean.

We researched several machines and did not wNt to pay hundreds of dollars so narrowed it down to this Sunbeam and the Breville one. This one was only around $60. The Breville is around $75. All the reviews we read about the Breville mentioned an annoying leaking via the lid area when emptying the old coffee. This was not something we were happy about and so we bought the Sunbeam machine instead. The lady at The Good Guys looked after us and we have been using the Sunbeam for a little while now- every day- you can even set a timer to brew for you- and it is excellent!!! We highly recommend this machine- great looking too! This is my third Sunbeam drip coffee maker. The first lasted ages, but unfortunately the spring on the filter basket broke not long after warranty on the second. I’m hoping this was an unfortunate aberration. It is necessary, however, to be gentle with the jug. It’s a shame it’s not just a little more robust. Generally this machine is easy to use and adapt to the number of coffees - and strength - required.

I first purchased this coffee machine March 2020 . Loved the timer function so I daily had hot coffee ready for me each morning. The stay warm feature and large spot size were also positive features. However it stopped working after about 9 months. I then repurchased another one, as I liked it s much. Sadly this one has also stopped working, again with only about 9 months of use. I used it most mornings on the timer mode also, and would turn it off within 1 hour of use. The machine was never filled to capacity and kept clean. I will not be purchasing this again. 2 machines within 2 years is not money well spent.
I love this coffee machine. My partner and I prefer filter coffee and this machine is a cheap and effective way of making it. We purchased it as a replacement for the same model, which lasted many years. This upgraded machine is even better! The programming function works really well, and we love waking up to a pot of already-made hot coffee.
Makes fine coffee, but they must use tiny cups. Filling to 4 cups barely yielded two cups. Seems like 6 cups will be needed to fill two cups. And the machine is overly large for what it is. Previously owned (but unfortunately cracked) drip coffee makers were far smaller. It would be good to be able to buy a new pot and not have to buy a complete machine. But that's how the world goes.

The machine has a very strong and unusual stink; fortunately the smell doesn't transfer to the coffee, but it does make the kitchen smell funny. Unless you brew several litres at a time, coffee comes out weak and insipid (even if you use more than double the recommended amount). So this coffee maker might be suitable for an office, but not for home use. (Don't even try to make 4 cups or less.) I fear that it is only a matter of time before this large and seemingly fragile carafe collides with something. Overall, a disappointing purchase.
I have had Sunbeam coffee filter machines for more than 40 years. This model recommends 4 cups minimum as distinct from 2 cups in my last machine which equates to 1 normal cup which is all I need often. Paper filters are now not to be used and I prefer them. The original machines had a larger space for filling the water compartment though that convenience changed years ago.
I am so thrilled with this coffee machine. It’s so easy to use. It makes delicious coffee. Its quick and easy to use: easy to clean & doesn’t take up much space on the kitchen bench. And I got a great special buy from Myer on-line. My sister & I happily vie daily to make the morning coffee.
Got a good deal in the Boxing Day sale and I'm pretty happy with it! Minor downsides are that it only heats for 2 hours, does not accept paper filters, and the display's backlight is incredibly bright. Depending on the layout of your living space you may find the light intrusive at night. But now I can crank out a big pot of coffee very easily, so who cares if I didn't sleep well?
