Very smooth casting and a pleasure to fish with. I bought 2 spools of 5lb and the deal breaker is it keeps breaking. one spool broke twice as I was spooling up the line on to my reel, and the other spool would randomly break while setting the hook on panfish with an ultralight rod, on the 1st day of usage. If it didn't keep snapping, it would be an amazing line.

Great Braid

Smooth and small diameter braid, Cast well and easy to tie knots. I have been using this braid for a few years now and is one of the better ones on the market.

Great braided line...

I bought this braid as it is my first choice in fishing line and I also thank BCF for the gift voucher that I used to purchase this item!I use Sunline Siglon 6Lb braid for flicking squid jigs and soft plastics which it does with ease in the way of casting distance and also feeling bites easily! This braided line has great strength for its diameter and length of life!!

Like Spun Silk Thread- Tough but Sticky
6 November 2018

I bought the 5# line to use for walleyes and jumbo perch on The Mississippi River since the ultra-fine diameter is useful for cutting the current. I put the entire spool on a small spinning reel and noticed one problem right away. It is impossible to cut with nail clippers and if you use scissors, they better be able to cut fine thread. I even tried using a pair that I have for tying jigs and it was tough with them. I have to use a knife to cut the line. The second thing, and this one is for all of us who work with our hands, if you have calluses or nicks and cuts or rough spots on your fingers, this stuff will stick to your fingers like a spider web and fray very easily whenever you try to tie a knot. For that reason alone, I won't buy any more. When I'm fishing, I like to be able to change lures and tie knots in a very short period of time. I don't need my line getting stuck and fraying on my working mans hands. Trust me, it's a real pain to handle. That said, I'll stick with mono and fluorocarbon.

Not good for ultralight fishing
23 March 2024

Terrible line, I do a lot of ultra light fishing and have used lots of different light braid and this is by far the worst. Terrible at holding knots to fluorocarbon , terrible at wind knots and awful for wrapping on the eyes of the rod when casting. I may have got a dodgy batch but I won’t risk it again.

Not the best buy out there
1 September 2019

I change braid annually and gave this one a go in 10lb. The line frays very easily and once that occurs it will break. Also susceptible to wind knots, tangling and all 'round hard work. I've been using braid / superlines for 20 years and this has been the worst choice I've made - line stripped and binned after a few outings.

Perfect light weight line
16 January 2021

Got this line to finish off my light bass set up on a 1000 Shimano, with the intent of throwing mostly 3-4.5 gram spinner baits, and to say I'm impressed would be an understatement. The last time I spooled up my 2500, I used Daiwa J-Braid X8 in a 15lb, and this Sunline in a 6lb feels almost as confident a line, even with it being half the strength. It peels off well, ties easy, has zero memory and handles larger surface lures no dramas. Worth the few extra dollars.

This stuff is best braid

Great braid! Never get wind knots and cast smoothly. Heaps better than other braids at that price point. Only issue is colour fades after about a year, but that doesn’t effect performance
