Super Sculpey Polymer Clay Super Sculpey is a unique polymer clay, loved by artists, doll makers, and animation studios around the world. With a ceramic-like feel, this polymer clay is available in a semi-translucent beige color, that can capture the glow of real skin. It can also be mixed with Sculpey Premo! or Sculpey III polymer clays to change the color. As with all Sculpey clays, it is easy to condition right out of the package and stays soft until baked. Super Sculpey features fine tooling and detailing characteristics and does not “fill in” after tooling. Because of these characteristics, Super Sculpey is preferred by artists for creating both prototypes and molds for reproductions. Additionally, artists use Super Sculpey to create finely detailed finished sculptures. After curing in the oven, Super Sculpey can be sanded, drilled, carved, and painted with water-based acrylic paints. With a ceramic-like feel, Super Sculpey is available in semi-translucent beige, that once baked, captures the glow of real skin.

This Sculpey clay is amazing. So much better than other types of Sculpey we have tried. This never dries out, doesn't stick to your hands or surfaces which makes it super easy to clean up the after. My kids are 4 and 6 and they can't get enough of this. They are sculpting everything from butterflies to miniature versions of themselves. It's incredibly easy to work with once you get it warmed in your hands.

This is my favorite polymer clay! I’m very new to this hobby/art form, so I’ve been trying every polymer clay available and THIS is my favorite! (This and SS Living Doll are now my go-to clays.) It conditions well, and is not too gooey when warm or doing a lot of hand sculpting. Since I’m a figurative artist, I love what this clay allows me to create!

So let me start by saying this is the first clay product I've purchased that I've actively enjoyed and felt like I could improve with each project. Reasonably priced, love that I can bake it in a basic home oven, pretty consistent from the packs I've bought. I did notice some reviews mentioning the firmness being a problem. Definitely hard when first out of package, but working it over time with your hands will eventually soften it up! I'm considering getting one of the roller machines I've seen to make the process faster/easier and would recommend it for people who may have hand/joint pain. Because once it's been worked it's much more malleable. It takes finger indentions easily, so a light hand can be useful when working with this stuff. Overall a solid product, planning on heading over my local store again to grab more for a BJD build. If you accidentally get any cracks or breaks after baking you can fill with more raw clay (so long as there's no paint or anything on it) and rebake and it typically fixes the problem. I dropped a mask and it split into three. Was able to putty it together with more sculpture and rebake. Fixed it right up. Sanding paper of lower grit followed by sanding paper of higher grit helped smooth the mend.My roommate has a pizza stone so my oven stays a pretty consistent temperature, but I didn't have any issues with baking without the stone. So depending on your oven, may be worth looking into. If I remember anything else I'll make another comment. Good luck everyone!

Good for folks with cold hands or lacking strength, decently soft. Maybe too soft for many small details, isn't as good for carving as air dry clay. I love using it to make cartoonish animal sculptures with limited small details, over wire and tin foil armature, and painted with acrylics. Brittle when cured, protrusions can be quite delicate. Never cracks while setting though.
When I ordered this, I honestly wasn't even sure what I'd use it for. Well, It being Christmas and all, I really needed more red and green clay to make ornaments. I mixed what I had with about half super sculpey to half red/ blue and green and doubled my colors with no little to no fading of the original color! Super sculpey is now my go-to for skin tone as well! I can mix in a tad of white to make it lighter or a tad of brown for dark skin. Amazing product!
I bought this clay for my son, he got into sculpting and hasn't looked back. He absolutely loves this clay, it is very easy to work with. If he has a problem with how something looks or feels he just pulls it off and just starts over. This clay is very forgiving. We will be buying more from you. Thank you very much for such a great product. If my friends wanted a good place to buy clay I would send them your way.
I've been using Super Sculpey both professionally and in my personal artwork for more than 25 years. It's perfect as both sculpting and finish material, and great for artists and craftspeople at every level. I used it when I taught students, and I use it in commissioned artwork. Super Sculpey remains soft until heat-set, and can be added to and rebaked. It's a truly irreplaceable modeling and sculpting material for me.
Foreword : I am an rank amateur model maker!I've been making models for around the last 3 months and have exclusively used super sculpey for this time and have been thoroughly impressed. It is very versatile and strong enough when baked I don't worry too much about being a little rough with my projects. Baking is simple and so far I have yet to burn anything. After the usual learning curve I began experimenting with different thicknesses and have had a lot of fun working with this clay. ÂŁ160 later and I'm still loving it and the figures are getting much better. Great product for all ages and skill levels.
I totally underestimated this Sculpey. Took a lot more elbow grease to get it into “workable” clay. But I enjoy the end results left by this Sculpey. Glad I got it.
Clay is exactly as described and what I needed! It's firm until you start warming it up with your hands and/or you use the clay softener, which I bought both. Clay is soft to touch even when baked (if you don't overwork the clay with softener anyway).I have no trouble forming details I need. The reason why I went with this one is because it's easier to paint over a warm base vs a gray base for figures, etc.Color is exact to flesh color and it's pretty neat. Thank you!
