I almost never review products but I have to give these inserts a glowing recommendation. I am a long distance backpacker with very flat feet and have struggled for years with severe plantar fascitis that has nearly ended my hikes at times. After the first two weeks of using these I have been virtually pain free even when hiking on incredibly rocky terrain. I have tried insoles before that were supportive but too rigid and although I wasn't experiencing planter fasciitis pain I was experiencing general achiness in my feet which I attributed to the rigidness of the insole. These are supportive but still soft enough, especially in the heel, so that they are very comfortable. I wish I had discovered these years ago!

I used these for on the Long Trail for 275 miles and loved them. They were comfortable and durable. At the time I would have given them 5 stars. But I have bought two pairs since and they both totally failed. The fabric adhesive fails once they get wet. This did not happen with my first pair. Once it fails, the fabric peels from the heel cup and can irritate the foot and then traps debris between the fabric and insert. I am very disappointed. I switched to the carbon superfeet instead. They do not have the same issue thankfully.

The fit was fine, they worked without a backpack fine. I got these to go on a long backpacking trip in the Unitahs and they destroyed my feet! After about 2 miles in, the hard plastic on the bottom of the insole was pinching my heel and caused 2 huge blisters on the back of my feet. I tried modifying them in the field by cutting off the hard plastic part on the heel, that didn't make any difference, the damage had already been done to my heels.I had to hike the rest of the week with my heavy pack in my Keen sandals which didn't help my already blistered and damaged feet! These were placed in my Mammut Trovat hiking boots, luckily because I didn't have them in there for too long they didn't destroy my boots just my feet!I have had these boots for 3 years now and ... I have had a lot of problems with strain ligaments in my right ankle. As a result the ankle joint is very loose and easily rolls over to the outside. I had hoped these inserts would stabilize the ankle and keep it from rolling over in my hiking boots. Unfortunately, they made the problem worse. They have a structure design to limit pronation and that made the ankle almost constantly under tension to the outside. There were very uncomfortable to the outside. I returned them. I realize that the vast majority of insoles are for pronators. These are just like everything else in that regard.
I replaced a worn out pair of Superfeet Blue with these Trailblazer Comfort Hiking Insoles a month ago and their effectiveness was immediately felt. No more sore feet or hips. Cushioning and support is very good. Although the shoes themselves have held up well, they've logged a lot of miles and with these new insoles they have been granted an extended life. I will be happy to gain another season of hiking without having to buy new shoes. One note: they are thicker than the blue insoles so my feet fit more snugly in the shoes but not to the point of discomfort or distraction.
I read several reviews before deciding to try these insoles out. I liked how these insoles had extra cushion for the forefoot and heel. Well 4 miles into my hike that cushioning felt nonexistent. Both of my feet ached so badly and I had 2 miles left to hike. Once finished I replaced those insoles with my normal half soles from another company and my feet felt brand new and I continued on for 5 more hikes. These Adapt Hike Max are not for me. For reference, I wear a women’s size 8 with average width and arch.
Rather firm with the plastic center. The arch shape is ok, pretty normally shaped for height. It is a little more pronounced than most. But the pad is also firm. The foam heel spot is ok but not that noticable as a soft feature.I do feel strongly that the surface material is more durable than any other insole available. The comfort level is about par with Dr Scholles plantar fascitis product. I expected more benefit from the cupped heel but maybe the cup was too large for the heel shape. I'm 11.5 and purchased the largest one, cut a 1/4 inch off end to fit so I'm sure is was the right side but maybe shoes aren't designed correctly in the first place.Good luck finding your thing.
40 yrs of plantar fascitis. In the “olden days”, I had to get expensive custom orthotics. After my Birkenstocks wore down, it flared up again with nothing seeming to help. The ADAPT Hike Max with the deep heel cup have decreased the pain, so that I can actually walk normally again. I have also used these for back packing in the past and they are outstanding- increasing stability and preventing flare ups. If you have PF, get these. Shoes alone (i.e. Hoka) will not solve the problem (speaking from experience).
Upon receiving my Superfeet in the mail, I pulled the soles from my two pairs of "serious brand" hiking boots (costing about $150 per pair) to compare with my Superfeet 'Hike Cushion' soles. Based on the quality and cushioning features, it appeared the Superfeet would make a difference.I then test-hiked the three soles. With the Superfeet soles, I seem to glide along the trail instead of clumping along the trail, and I am now finishing my hikes with less fatigue, thanks to the superior cushioning of the Superfeet. My typical hike profile is 5-7 miles with 1,000 to 1,500 elevation gain.If you hike regularly, by all means spend the extra $50 on a pair of beautifully made Superfeet soles.
worn Superfeet insoles for decades, but the Adapt Hike Max weren't comfortable. I could feel the heel cup contour the entire time, which was annoying. It felt like two parallel ridges on the bottom of my feet. The deep heel cup is too deep, which means you need to have narrow heels. I don't know how this and the trailblazer comfort pop out of the insole finder as being for flat feet, because they are not. The one fit concept for a hiking insole just doesn't work, because neither of the two hiking specific insoles are for my flat feet and normal heel. Superfeet is excellent though in terms of honoring the 60day.
